They will be fine for a 1sq ft space for up to around 2-3 weeks, at which point there will not be enough light penetration and the plants will stretch. So as long as your seedlings can fit in that well lit sq foot they will be fine, though obviously not as vigorous as a plant under more intense light.

Have a peek at the indoor subsection, cfl lighting. The 100w comparative value is not relevant to the situation as this is representative of how bright the light is perceived, not in fact being comparable to the wattage of HPS, MH or other HID lighting.

Hi all. Kmoo too many weirdos in this world. Glad you said something. On a different note i have quite a simple question which i hope someone can answer for me. The rangess has been down the side path for a while now. When i put it out in the direct sun it melted a few leaves so instead of carting it back and forth it just stays down the path. The issue is that it doesnt get any direct sun. I feel more secure with it down there as its out of view from everyone and i know my next door neighbour loves a smoke and would probably nick if he saw it. It is shaded by a fence down the path unfortunately. Will this plant still finish or not? Here is the latest pic of her.

Thanks Knickers that reassured me. Only a few days at the most, then proper lighting. and I had wondered how the equivalent wattage comparisons worked out for growing, so big ta.

Hello Rock wow she's beautiful! I had to harvest my outdoors early because my neighbour was scoping to steal them, feckin idjit bcoz I was gonna give him 1/4 the harvest...now we're not talking anymore, he got nothing of the outdoor grow and wont be getting any of my indoor stuff either! Also Mr Policeman saw them and I got paranoid.

Mmmm. I guess dark shade. Its obviously bright down there but still in the shade. Imagine sitting on the beach with an umbrella. The shade from the unbrella is darker than the rest of the sand but still kind of bright. Thats what its like down the side path. Hope that analogy made sense.

Rock that plant looks cool. I really suggest moving it into a more well lit area, maybe under partial shade like a tree canopy, or in an area where it will receive say 6hrs of direct light only. See how it goes and keep giving it more sunlight until it says stop. You know that's how she likes it.

Point is both of these allow you to put it behind something from your neighbours point of view so it's more hidden.

Yeah I was lucky he was a nice guy, stared at them for a bit then stopped his mate coming in...me obviously an amateur personal grower, probably not worth the hassle of the paperwork. I had a freakin heart attack tho!

Rock, did you prune your outdoor girl? Her shape is so pretty.

Nah no pruning. Here is what she came back from though. I mamed her quite a bitwhen she was young so couldnt afford to chop any leaves off. She is a battler though.

Knickers i think i will have to put her in the sun. Well at least in a position she will get a bit. The only good thing about the path is the security.

SCG. You are one crazy man. I would have laid a darky in my pants if a cop next door saw my plant.

Rock - what a recovery! She's gorgeous now. Is it easy for people to get into your garden? I'm uncomfortable growing oudoors....can't wait til my little grow space is set up. then, no more outdoors growing for me.

I think a while. Growing with different conditions would affect the time it will take to finish I think. I am hoping she will done in 6 weeks.
