Attitude Top 10 List ? ? ?

The Top 10 list is really: "this is what we have the most seeds of" and would like to get rid of them. Honestly, there are a few on the list that just don't make any sense. You would think all the larger seed banks would have similar strains on top which is not the case- look at Herbies and Sea of Seeds and compare to Attitude- NOT EVEN CLOSE!~
Attitude is pretty much right with it's claims of being the biggest seed bank in the world. Anyone who orders seeds will have at least known about Attitude, looked on their website or ordered from them previously. Not only that, there are people who don't have the information that we regular forum users have on breeders, so the ones which are advertised the most, are the ones which are bought the most.

Greenhouse Seeds, Barneys Farm and Dutch Passion are the biggest companies in Holland(seed wise), they're the ones who win the most cups, get the most coverage in High Times and also they have the largest selection of seeds, this is why they're the most popular, advertising leads to sales, especially if it's positive publicity from High Times or one of the many other Cannabis Cups.

The worst of it is, these guys to the informed growers are not as reputable as they seem to an untrained eye. New members of the growing community will naturally get sucked into pretty pictures and page upon page reviews of the latest strains.

I like to put it into a movie context. You've got the likes of James Cameron and Steven Spielberg who are world renowned an who ever stars in their movies, usually end up getting a nomination at the Oscars. Then you the likes of Tarantino, who has more of a cult following, and only has one or two of his movies known across the world(Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained). Clearly he's a better director/producer in terms of writing and talent, but he never has the budget to get the box office smashes that the previous two mentioned get.

My comparisons may be slightly dated, now that Tarantino has released more movies, but that's just how I see it. It's an unfortunate circumstance, where genuinely good breeders that have great genetics are undermined by marketing. I really feel for the likes of shanti and DJ Short.

Agreed. I wouldn't go so far as to say they suck, but I've never found a "keeper" I wanted to clone from my experiments with Barney's Farm. As for the list at Attitude, I'll agree it seems a bit contrived. Better to surf the forums and grow journals to find what is really working and decide from there. Sometimes the most disappointing about seeds from any reseller is the spotty germination percentage. Damn, spend good money on a pack of seeds only to have germination problems -- now that SUCKS. Regarding germination, I've had stellar germination percentage from TGA Genetics. I suspect some of the seeds at Attitude (an others) have been on the shelf too long. Too bad they don't come with a date stamp.

Is it just me, or do any of you wonder about that list on the Attitude Home page? Barney's Farm has the top two slots with Critical Kush and Liberty Haze.
I've grown a few BF strains with mixed results, but this list seems pretty bogus to me.
These days folks seem to be into Kush, Berry, and sublime taste/aroma strains.
What do you think the REAL top 10 are?
Number one : Hermaphrodited fill in the blank.

A date stamp! Great idea. Maybe someday seeds will come with a registered Certificate of Authenticity also. We'll see where the world takes us from here.
Yes, I feel for Sannie, Luc, Adam, and all the other breeders out there that really have a love for the plants.
And the winner of the wet t-shirt contest is....Derry? Uggh!
