Astir Grow Led Panel Project...

The leaves are affected since the smoke fell on them, that is logical. However, the plant is simply not healthy (no longer healthy due to constant exposure) enough to ward the virus off. Viruses, like all living things, seek to survive and will infiltrate the host as much as possible, meaning by now the rest of the plant has gotten sick, too.

Of course none of this matters if SDS keeps smoking tobacco in the tent room

On another note, the roughly 36 hour update to replacing the green heavy bulbs (even though they were on the far sides) in my T5 tent is very interesting. I also took out the actinic 660

HPA

1. Buds on both plants are noticeably thicker, with many more pistils

2. The lowest buds the largest plant (some 3ft from the bulbs) have easy doubled the amount of pistils

F & D

Only this plant (Sat dom) has exhibited curling secondary leaves. Since the nutes are the same as for the HPA, I have wondered what else could be the cause. Possibly spectrum imbalance. It appears the newest leaves are flat, but too soon to declare the better balance of spectrums is the reason, but there is nothing else to point my finger to

Since astir will be cost prohibitive to ship to US, can you guys put together a parts list so I can try and build some for my own use?

What driver?
What exact LEDs?
What Heatsink?
What else :P

I've read this thread from 1-67 and fairly understand the logic as well, but any help with current successful builds would be appreciated. I'll doc a journal and give proper credit ofc

Get yourself a multimiter if you haven't already! You'd want to set that on test mode and run over all the joints. Google this and you can watch some videos or instructions! When you run into problems a multimiter is mandatory to do not loose your brain over it!

greetings
I've already checked every led and everything seems to be ok...they can light all together but its a very faint light..i can barely see it...

When i checked the Red leds , the multimeter went crazy on the screen...

seriously i dont know what is going on....

greetings to the thread actually +rep for stardust!

I have been lurking for the last couple of weeks.

I noticed that you mentioned Knna a few times, but let me play the devil advocate here:

You said that knna has always advised against more than a few 660nm reds

That is not correct, knna used to say that too much or only 660nm reds are not well tolerated by some plants (flowering). His last a

advices were towards a 50/50 red/hyper red ratio. He also used to say that for vegging, all 660nm (no 620/30) coupled

with Royal blue do the job just fine. He always advised on using a few whites, but that was not that important as for flowering.

You also state that knna advised to the direction of employing only whites. Well yes, he was once questioned that, he said maybe

one day that would be possible given the advancement of white leds technology in terms of watts burned/costs per diode. He said

"maybe" anyway.

So that means you don't state accurate facts about knna, but that's ok. That also means that whatever you are discovering with your

experiments is only thanking to your personal choices and researches and no one else!

So well done, keep going and best of luck, I'll be following
Well ,thanks ...
Anyway...
Knna has been the spark ,which has set the "led grow fire ",inside me...

.....
Ohhhh..Brother PetFlora ,Of course I do not smoke inside the grow area...
What I mean is that simple :
Touching tobacco(which is 100% infected with a MV ) with bare hands
-to roll one smoke or joint(here mixing tobacco with weed is a rather common practice),virusesi are spreading all over...
Clothes,furniture,floor,walls,everywhere!
..
Kinda difficult to disinfect also..
Low-normal temps ,make ideal environments for viruses to express genome & "life cycle"/ multiply / outbreak ...

Driver : http://www.satisled.com/Wholesale-Discount-cc-driver-for-1w-series-1w-waterproof-driver_c295.html

leds : Warm whites :Cool Whites : Red 630 = 3:2:1
( Or you can try .....WW :CW : R630 :R660 = 6:4:1:1 )....

Heatsink & pcbs ..That is the difficult part ..
Heatsinks are pretty expensive...
Pcbs exist in a wide variety...

Huh. Might be worth spraying down the tobacco with H2O2 + CS and drying it out for a few days. Or wear gloves and a Clean Suit in the grow room

How about using, for simplicity's sake, 1 625nm red for every two 6500K white? Kind of reverse evo led light.
Well,as you might 've noticed ,it's already as simple as possible...
Also check out again ,that actually the warm Whites are most in power/number of leds and not the Cool whites...
Both they are needed...
Along with some reds...

Maybe just quittin' smoking ,it would 've been much more simple ..and healthy...(for both plants & humans..)

You're like family, so I would love to hear that you quit!

I came across a Youtube video that demonstrates how much tar is in < 1/3 of a cigarette: Scary. I smoke an occasional cigar- maybe one a week, but not much is inhaled.

For our beloved mj, I use a gravity bong

It's just that I've been toying a lot with that build my led custom tool and different ratios of color temperature of whites, and the main differences are in the amount of blue and far red (basically, with just cool white and red one gets more blue but 2% far red, whereas 3:2:1 ww:cw:r gets 3% of far red, but about 5% less blue). I don't know, of course, how reliable or accurate that tool is and am going to use warm whites, it is just that I sometimes get these ideas and...

HMMMMMM.....so SDS are you going to build a proto with NW/640nm only (3-1) , sounds like this may be the "it" spec.....very interested to see how it performs......girls look lovely and a nice even canopy:)

nice plants SDS.. :-P beautifull colour and healthy leafs..
what about the drip system?
do you have a main tanker for this or it's connected with tap water?

very nice system for scrog, soil grows..
Well...
I'm still trying to solve some problems about it ( leakages)...
Anyway ...
The irrigation System :

-First two components is the "unit 1000 " and "Fertiliser Dispenser" .
Both from swedish company "Gαrdenα"...

"Unit 1000 " is the starter hose attachment and it filters the water ,as also it drops the tap pressure to 1.5 bar .
http://www.gardena.com/ca/en/water-management/micro-drip-irrigation-system/unit-1000/
It costs about 12 Euros.

Then water moves to "Fertiliser Dispencer ".This device allows ,fertilisers to be added to irrigation water ,for 'feeding' .
http://www.gardena.com/ca/en/water-management/micro-drip-irrigation-system/fertilizer-dispenser/
Cost about 14 Euros .

..filter +fert 2.jpg...That's outside the tent ...

Inside the tent ...
filter+fert.jpg..

There are the pressure adjuster valves..
Ordinary agricultural drip system valves (less than 1 € for 3 pcs ),
along with ordinary hose and "T" & "L" joints..(less than 1 € for 5 pcs )
....
And then ,water moves to the sprayers ....
http://www.gardena.com/ca/en/water-management/micro-drip-irrigation-system/gardena-t-joint-for-spray-nozzles/
( 2 € for 5 pcs )
http://www.gardena.com/ca/en/water-management/micro-drip-irrigation-system/spray-nozzle-90/
(2.5 € for 5 pcs )
..
Although I should have used the fine-misters...Maybe ,later on...
http://www.gardena.com/ca/en/water-management/micro-drip-irrigation-system/micro-mist-nozzle/
(2.5 € for 5 pcs )
..

..waterin 1.jpgwaterin 2.jpgwaterin 3.jpg..(at different pressures...)

System can be attached to ordinary tap for manual irrigation , or to a water timer for automatic
(I got this : http://www.gardena.com/ca/en/water-management/water-controls/water-timer-t-1030-d/ for 50 €...)
or even to a submersible water pump for use with RO / distilled Water...

Still ,though ,I'm having some leakages ( due to cheap ordinary hoses/joints...) ...
But I'm going to fix that...

...
13 th day on transition period ...

Nop...
I'll stick to the WW/CW combo(for now ) and experiment a bit ,only with reds ( 620-630,640 & 660 )....

There's that old joke :

Guy goes to doctor for general check -up...

-Doc : Well ,the results from the examinations look really fine....
Do you drink any alcohol ?
-Guy : Nope...
-Doc: Do you smoke ?
-Guy : Nope...
-Doc: Do you use any drugs ?
-Guy : Nope...
-Doc: Do you stay awake up till early morning havin' fun ?
Do you go out at nights ,from bar to bar ?
Do you f@ck around a bit,maybe ?
-Guy : Nope-nope-nope...
.....So doc ,do I have plenty of years
still , to live ?
-Doc : Well yes...Although ,I do not understand why you care so much ,about it ...

Anyway,thanx brother for your concern...
It means a lot to me...
( I 'll try once more to quit smokin' ....Thanx to you, this time ... )

Thankfully, everything is on point, so not much to say. Here are today's photos

LED Tent

Note lowest buds are pretty decent size and tight, yet 24"+ below the ufo and ~ 14" below the low watt led bar
. At this point bud development is on par with the HOT5 tent

HOT5 Tent

First pic is my Lil SOGer. She still has the most trics. Hoping for seeds cause there were no side branches to clone

Close up of the Sat dom main cola. Note how the secondary leaves 2" down are curled under, but those on top are not, at least at this point, so MAYBE too much green was causing the curling. Also, her 15"+ side branches are strong. I give credit to using V+B from the get-go

Group Shot

Lil SOGer is in the back. You can't really see her in this shot
