thats great that you research the things you say.:clap: where is your supporting evidence for your position on this matter? do you have a longitudinal large scale study that concurs with any of your argument or are you simply extrapolating the data for cigarette smoking to marijuana smoking.
also on another note, what do you mean when you say natural and healthy environment, thats very vague and frankly improbable.

It's a choice. I did not say that marijuana consumption during pregnancy adversely affects the child. I said I would choose not to in reply to the original poster's question. I didn't state an argument; I stated a life choice for my family. Why would I be "extrapolating the data for cigarette smoking to marijuana smoking"? I don't know what that has to do with anything.

I mean a natural and healthy environment for the baby. What is there not to understand about that? I said I wanted to have as little toxins and foreign substances as possible. That would include marijuana smoke.

im just saying it probably wouldnt hurt to takea toke once a month or less, or maybe an alternative to morning sickness,

as a late 80s child there wasnt alot of knowledge about pregnancy and smoking cigs back in the day my moms doctor told her to smoke menthols insted and maybe i was lucky but i was born without asthma or other respiratory problems

None of you are making any points its funny how everyone comes out with different point of views in the matter. but there is no physical evidence to to support the causes of a fetus developing with cannabis in a pregnant woman's bloodstream. This thread should be changes to "is it moral for a pregnant woman to smoke cannabis while pregnant".

I'll reiterate:

I didn't say marijuana usage will hurt the child. I said I want my child to be nurtured in a natural environment with the least amount of externalities possible. As a hypothetical parent in the original poster's question, I would choose to have both myself and my partner not to smoke cannabis before and during the pregnancy.

Having a beer, a glass of wine, one cigarette, a line of coke, one puff of crack, a few dozen different cocks inside the mothers vagina won't kill the child. Doesn't mean I'm going to have that.

I wasn't stating a position for an argument, I was stating my choice in the hypothetical situation (which I will encounter in the near future).

I'm sure as hell glad I'm not your woman! I have four kids, I do NOT think a woman should smoke pot or drink alcohol or smoke cigs while preggo. I did not drink or smoke pot during my pregnancies. BUT, the rest of it???? No fast food? No carbonated drinks ( now, I don't drink soda often), and the carbonation is not why pregnant woman ate supposed to limit their intake of soda...It's the caffine. I switch to half-caff coffee and call it good. I think it would change the world if every man in it had to experience pregnancie for just 3 months out of their lives AND had to abide by your screwed up guidelines! If I want to have a damn Whopper and fries for lunch when I'm preggo, NO MAN has the right to tell me I can't or shouldn't!

How is it false logic? I stated I won't have externalities during my hypothetical wife's pregnancy period. Marijuana smoke is a foreign substance to the baby's environment; hence, I would not have it. That is not false logic.

You cited one source - a research paper from Jamaica that I am reading in full right now. It is a sample of 44 people. One sample of 44 people does not stand as a viable reason for reaching an absolute conclusion.

What kind of bullshit is this?

In carbonated drinks I wasn't referring to the caffeine, though caffeine is another externality I would oppose. It's the high-fructose corn syrup which is horrible for you. It's also the aspartame, which is also horrible for you. I would not have fast food because it's junk food. It's filled with chemicals that are harmful to the body.

What's with the feminist bullshit? I didn't say I'd force my wife to do anything. It was a hypothetical situation and the original poster was asking for our opinions. If my hypothetical wife was sitting next to me to hypothetically discuss our hypothetically baby, then hypothetically maybe I would not have typed it from only my point of view. Second, if I were to have a planned pregnancy with my wife, I would first have a wife that cared for her own body. A woman that cared for her own body would not be eating junk food and drinking carbonated drinks, but would be watching her diet and making sure she gets all the nutrition she needs - especially when she is pregnant.

I shouldn't have even replied to this stupid post.

What about the poor chimpanzees @ UCLA... there is no propaganda on them testing monkeys and marijuana but I've seen and actually sneaked a peek. wish I had more info though on what type of studies there conducting
