It's a refreshing look into the way things were once even if it's only a 50 year old movie portraying 120 years ago. I spent hours of my childhood in silence with my great grampa watching old westerns. Only time I'd see his eyes moist.

Ahh nostalgia x The closest I've gotten to a proper western is Dances with Wolves, Last of the Dogmen and Rango lol

Though that's not the proudest moment or subject in American history, I'd like to see that I think. Never heard of it. Is it a made for tv movie? Speaking of which, how bout lonesome dove? That movie almost made me depressed it was over.

I always wondered what they thought of American westerns in the uk. As for real history goes, what happened in 19th century USA was like nothing else in world history. I'm sure it can be appreciated world wide, or at least should be. :)

I remember when deadwood first came out I watched first couple episodes but fell off for some reason. Is it worth getting the DVDs?

Speaking of more current shows, has anybody seen Hell on Wheels? It's a good one, in my opinion. Finished the first season not long ago.

As will I with deadwood. I'm suprised you've never seen it. There is several movies, all prequels and sequels none that the original actors are in though. I'd have to say it's my favorite western movie experience of all time. It's amazing that it was made as a tv mini series. Especially one of Duvalls best accomplishments, don't make em likenhim no more.

Yeah I don't think I've heard of it before either. You watch the new show Vegas with Dennis Quaid?
