Are opiates the only painkiller?

I am pretty convinced naproxen/aleve caused me to have a seizure 7 years ago. Havent touched it since and no further issues.
Really fucked up waking up with a severe head injury and have some er doctor recommending epilepsy drugs
Why would he recommend an epilepsy drug without an EEG demonstrating epileptic wave activity? A single seizure can be a one off from something else though I'm not sure it was the advil/tylenol combo. Most people have been doing it for years myself included. I experiment a lot; I just make sure its something I can come back from. The Stevia smoking that someone posted? That would be auto seizure for me just watching someone else do it. Pass.

Just for kicks could you explain what happened just before the seizure? There are certain 'tells' and I'm interested in what yours were in that minute or so before the burst.

I use edibles, dabs and low dose Kratom with my morning and afternoon coffee. Works well for me.

Been on most opiates through the years(codeine, tramadol, oxycodone and methadone). The only one that seem to work long term is low dose kratom for me personally. I like the effect of gabapentin and pregabalin but it feels to harsh on the system for me and a complete nightmare getting of them.

Demerol is my choice when heavy duty pain killers are needed. Morphine makes me sick as a dog and when it wears off it's worse. Puking out both ends like the worse hangover ever or a bad case of ebola.

Demerol just works. You know the pain is still there but you don't f'n care anymore. Sleep like a baby and wake up feeling great.

I used to get 30 - 50mg tabs for my bum shoulder and would last me 4 - 6 months as I only used it when the pain was really bad or once in a while take 3 for a nice trip. Then the doc got all worried about the opiod epidemic and cut me off. Said to try Cymbalta which is a horrible and addictive anti-depressant so I stick to RSO and CBD oils.

Shoulder hardly bothers me now so no biggie.

:peace:
The effects of Demerol is great but it's also terrible for the kidneys.

I use kratom as well; it's been quite the lifesaver I totally forgot. Green Malaysa for pain. I rotate daily. Some rotate during the day. I like it for the AM after noon I move to gummies, vape etc. Gabapentin..I'll be on it until I die so I'm not worried about the shitty withdraw. Gabapentin is a potentiator as well.

The best quick hit in the AM is Kratom Tea. Supermarket sells empty tea bags add some lemon drops to increase potential and drink as a shot.

Edit: Which kratom do you use for narcotic effect?

He actually got removed and replaced because of the amount of complaints. I did unfortunately follow his advice before getting a second opinion and that neurologist telling me it made no sense. Epilepsy drugs have alot of really lousy side effects.
The cardiologist said a rapid blood pressure drop likely caused the fainting, the severe head injury probably caused the seizure.

It may not have been the naproxen, but with how scary that whole episode was im fine with just tylenol or advil

Epilepsy drugs are really nasty especially the Black Box drugs like Vinpat. He should have never prescribed such madness on a perfectly good brain. I'm glad you got the second opinion and I concur with the syncope because once you pass out anything can happen..hit your head etc..God knows it's happened to me so many times. Sometimes I go out and come back before hitting the floor. Drink lots of fluids to increase blood volume use salt liberally. My Cardiologist wanted me to take salt tablets:spew:

Except it's not an opioid but ok.
It may seem strange but opioids effect me like cocaine does others. I avoid it these days for that reason.
I can stay up late while being overly social, drink crazy amounts of alcohol, and yet feel reasonably sober.

I actually only partake in weed these days but I've never been into opioids. Always make me feel sick and fall asleep, never fun.
