Are opiates the only painkiller?

Sometimes when the edible kicks in it feels better than an opioid to me. I like to pop an edible and take hot shower and do some stretching. Then when the edible kicks in it’s better than any opioids I’ve tried. :eyesmoke:
Which do you like? I find this can work depending on pain type and level. Fair warning I'm way past popping one.

I have been having terrible neck and arm pain and thankfully 2 500 mg Tylenol take the pain away. I also like wearing the icy hot skin patches . Going to the doc today to get either a nerve or muscle relaxer. So many choices, not sure which I should ask for. The pain radiates down the right side of my neck into my right shoulder blade and down my arm to my elbow.

not in me. I find it indistinguishable from placebo.

That’s why good docs and pharmacists try a variety of drugs in class. It’s also why I viewed the insurers setting up their own restricted approval formularies to be plain evil.
I've had the worst toothache nerve pain needing root canal and Toradol was a miracle for me sorry it didn't work for you.

I do know that..again this is worst case and if you're dying + tolerance because you dab? Shot of Nyquil, 10-20mg gummies and a few vapes of Indica. Or you can just do a shot or two of alcohol instead of the diphenhydramine. That combo is end of night to cut the pain because you can't get into a good position..nothing feels right. Frankly, the alcohol worked well over the holidays.

It has never done anything for me, but a very strong coconut oil extraction rubbed on as a topical salve has helped out lots I know. Not sure about pain related to surgery, they used it more for arthritic and nerve/joint pain.

For my back until Pain Management I do a Salonpas Lidocaine on the offending lumbar then I put on the heated portable wrap around my waist. Battery is good for 4 hours. You can do that with pretty much any body part.

What's the OP's pain complaint? Where's the pain located?

Edit: TENS Unit Target $40.

Those Salonpas things actually work pretty good. I was surprised. Tylenol, Ibuprofen, and Asprin can do quite a bit too up to a point.

Yeah, 6-8 Advil Dual Action..if you add Tylenol to most things it will increase the potency..Aspirin is actually really good if you don't have a tolerance for it..real medicine if you take enough. The Salonpas with Sunbeam heat wrap also at Target, you'll sleep like a baby. It does work with any body part.

For straight pain like from surgery, know that NSAIDs (nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs) come in various levels of efficacy. Ibuprofen and naproxen can be had otc, but my experience with them is not encouraging.
I am pretty convinced naproxen/aleve caused me to have a seizure 7 years ago. Havent touched it since and no further issues.
Really fucked up waking up with a severe head injury and have some er doctor recommending epilepsy drugs

Then there's the old standby of an Irish Coffee..heavy on the Irish. Something about a coffee drink just takes the pain of muscle, ligament and loosens it all just the right way. The warmth of it all melting the pain.
