Unfortunately that is a rarity, and a seed doesnt always turn out like momma.
Too bad it was an auto and couldnt be cloned
nicely worded my man
Photos all day..
these kids need to stop watching knooks utubes
Ill add that the first plant i got to harvest indoors was an auto back in 2012
It was from black skull seeds strain was critical ryder
Had very musky fruity tones like guavas and grape fruit
They smelt like when the produce sellers at a foreign countrys small town go with all the ripe fruits and vegetables in a semi set shop..just fruity funky musk.
I wish I could breed a photo with those characteristics one day..

Wonder if drying to 12% had anything to do with the results.

Maybe. But same goes for photoperiods from seed.

Aye that’s the biggest downfall of autos not being able to clone seconded by no control over veg.

Still, autos now are in a different league compared to 10 or so years ago. That’s my point :)

Very true.
Testing and percentages are nonsense mostly. Totally something that can be gamed easily.
Autos are better than they were, but we should be honest the good and the bad.

Autos are awesome if you are in a cold basement, and dont want to add a heater during lights off.
They are great if you are in a crap growing zone outdoors where you are trying to avoid the fall season.
Growing both vegging and flowering plants in the same tent is a good trait as well.

What are the things about photoperiod plants you dont like?

Deffo, I’m at 56’ N so only autos outdoors for me.

Only thing that puts me off is the night cycle. I have to use a 2kw space heater to heat the room so it’s much cheaper just running my light 24hrs and I use a CMH so I get some radiant warmth

"Judging by the comments of a few gentlemen here, they are way behind in the time" hit it on the head. There are 2 kinds of clowns that come to the auto section and talk trash but don't grow them, so they don't have any relavnt information to add. Older guys that are too scared if they change that the world will pass them by, and guys that have TRIED but can't figure out how to grow them successfully.

If you grow on the window or balcony autos are perfect.allsoo if you want a short grow outdoors. Indoors i dont see much use yes you can you can allsoo get same weight for same amount of grow time but their true purpose is outdoor grow

Now a days, I find photos that can actually get the job done, that is if you like a high that is short lasting similar to smoking larf, while taking 15 minutes to peak.
What photo strains have you tried? You do realize that 100% of the clone only strains out there are photos, right?

A x p = ap.
ap x ap = 25% a, 25% p, and 50% ap,
25% photo plant brother. For real.

What point are you trying to make with this punnett square example? I respect your opinion so you know, I'm not trying to ride ya or bash autos, I'm just trying to figure out why you think autos are better smoke than photos. Do you think gorilla glue auto seeds will give you a better plant than the gg4 cut?

Besides automatic flowing what other traits of ruderalis are desired by us? It seems like breeders are trying to get photoperiod traits to automatically flower which suggests photo's are the desired genetics.

you are fine, I don’t think you are bashing. Like
I’m critical alot because these are some of the things that breeders should know.
I’m saying auto genetics could easily be hidden. Short admitted to using autos.
The breeding to the auto is done to produce hybrid vigor. Did the offspring from such a cross display vigor? Why not? ???
Brother besides for the mechanics of the process, all breedings aren’t the same.

Oh yeah DJ isn't the only one that's used ruderalis to shorten flowering time. It's common practice these days, especially those marketing fast versions of their photos. I can't really debate you on effects since effects are 100% subjective. If you like the autos that's all that matters. I will make a suggestion though. If you're ever looking to buy photo seeds, look into some old school lines, pure afghanis, sativas. There's magic a 16 week sativa can give you that no 60 day strain ever will.

They are typically higher. I’ve also found with the additional cbd I don’t get brain fog in the morning compared to smoking photoperiods all day

I have heard the augment for land race strain…. 12 weeks, no 16 weeks., 20, yah 20 wks, that’s it.
Where are those exceptional 16 week strains that you speak of? Surely they would be all over the place by now. When I ask one guy, he says, thai, the next one says oax, the next one says Acapulco gold.
Really it’s whoever you talk to, depending on where they have been and how long it’s been since they was last there.
However everyone else is growing cookies or some cross their of.
It’s all good with me how any ones feels, I enjoy a good back and forth.
I’m all good with whatever anyone smokes. Blaze that’s hit up and let’s get…. Bzzzzzd

do you have time for 16weeks? and they stretch like crazy you need a huge tent.go to ace seeds.
just because something is rearly grown doesnt mean its bad maybe its just too long for people to think its worth it
