I can't wait to get my cobs started. I'm doing ones for veg first.. In a couple weeks I'll be able get the rest of everything for veg and maybe 1-2 panels flower panels.

drivers are nice and small like t5 drivers. I was actually expecting them to be larger too. They can be mounted on a small heat sink. I'm not sure if I want to do external drivers. Just because of wires being all over the place.

Make it clean and there shouldn't be anymore of a wire mess than any hps and ballast.

What temp/chips are you doing for a veg lamp?

So GG I have a question for you or anybody who wishes to pipe in. I just bought a 190xgs from Area 51. I'm using earth juice original formula with some enzymes form AN. My buds look weak and the tips are curling down. The distance is about 20in from light. No temp issues inside closet. It took about 4 weeks to notice any trichome development. BTW its in fox farm happy frog. Any suggestions?

So it appears that I've unwittingly ordered a 5w COB light, it's just called a reflector lamp instead. Is there anything different about COB led lights compared to normal led panels that I should bear in mind, distance from plant etc?

what earth juice are you using? grow, bloom, or both? If you are only using the bloom in your happy frog you are going to have problems. Are you trying to stay organic?

If these Apache LED lights pull at the wall about 780 watts each I don't see a real big savings on electricity versus 1000 watt HIDs set up. And when it comes to replacing high-pressure sodium bulbs I can buy a hell of a lot of bulbs for $2400. I have good ventilation so heat has never been a issue with me so what would be a positive for using a couple of these verses my three 600s?
For some, its the heat issue. Outdoor temps here go over 100 deg, so air conditioning is a must.

I don't know where you got 780 watts. Its much lower. With genies discount its $2000 and has a lifetime limited warranty. You are saving over 400w.. Plus 230 watts to vent 1000w. That's an average of $75 a month in savings vs a 1000w. The savings alone will pay for the light in 2 years.. Those mercury bulbs , you will spend another $200 over 2 years.
Who is "genies"? $400 off sounds pretty good to me!

I am genie...greengenes...GG...tags...whatever you want to call me. And I have been giving the code out for years...just recently did AT start hooking everyone up...and that is because if they didn't...I would.
It makes the at600 $1900

RBK331 will get you a discount on anything that apache makes/sells. at120's, at200's, at600's, T8led tubes...what ever

The clones are looking nice and healthy. Cant wait to see all those apaches up and hanging. Dont think you mentioned, how many 120s ill be up over that section? Looking forward to seeing the dyi project. If it's not too much trouble, I would be extremely greatful if you did some videos of the builld in progress. I think out of following anyones instructions on here, id have the best chance of understanding what the heck is going on coming from you and video format would be ideal. Sometimes I learn better by watching rather than reading. No worries if you dont have time for that though. Peace brotha enjoy the weekend.

Have you gotten the results of your testing in?

A little garden update...
I found myself slow clapping  to the video when you were talking about mainlining in a 3'x3' under those diy AB's. I might have to retire my "old" Z4's once the AB's arrive. Watch yourself with the diy it can be more fun than gardening and become addictive. j/k

I can not believe you are gutting your at120, I bet you could sell that and get yourself a few huge heat sinks. Its not like its a shitty Apollo or Lush panel, its an Apache and I'm sure its got some value still.

Thanks, they should all perform well.
My plan is to do a build a long video. Super simple, and show the assembly. I think that is exactly what you and others are looking for.

Haven't even dropped them off yet. I have a hook at steep hill, and getting down there is a mission. So I may have to resort to a local lab, still very reputable. It's been about 1 month since chop...so still prime testing, but I need to do it this week.

I have now built/vegged 5 mainline projects...non have been flowered more than 3 weeks. So I am determined to use this one somewhere.

I used to have big ambitions as a grower...now just a normal gardener...so I have a few extra laying around. And they are all perfectly good, as lights or components. But funny enough I called AT to talk about some lights and also told them what I was doing. They have a spare heat sink. I guess it has a screw struck in it, and some holes drilled, so they aren't going to use it. I definitely have the intrigued. They threw in some thermal pads. We will see what's the 411 when it all gets here. They didn't like the project cowboy name, but fuck it.
It's turning into a real COB fest around here.
Hard to argue with the numbers. I have some xte's laying around that won't get used now. I still am thinking of adding a red(not set on which nm's) string or two to it. I am very interested to see how it performs with the PAR meter in an actual grow situation.
