Anyone still have a home phone?

I fucking hate my fucking land line. I leave it unplugged 75% of the time. If I plug it in I am bombarded with calls from wretched fucking scam clowns.

I maintain because it's the the only game in town if you want fios.

The connectivity biz is a monopoly thing in my hamlet

When she set up her new home office she dug it out and still uses it today.

I've never owned a cellphone, laptop, or tablet. My home phone is an old Bell System pushbutton desk phone by Western Electric.

Yep, same # for 35 yrs. Got callerID, turned the ringer off , made it blink a light. Light blinks, I look, goes to ans machine if I likely don't answer. Only use cell phone if I'm away from home; only 8 people have my number.

That's how it was when I was in highschool

If you wanted to call the next nearest town you had to dial the last # of the prefix

I don't want to be bothered with bogus cell phone calls. I have a landline for bullshit calls and anybody can find me in the phone book. I can filter through the answering machine quickly to see if there are any important calls. My cell phone is only for my 10-15 closest friends. I keep my number closely guarded like the President. If anybody calls me that I don't know I QUICKLY inform them that they have the wrong number and hang up; no exceptions. I get very few bogus calls on my cell.

One time I was under a house repairing a phone line, when it rang....... holy shit.....no wonder fish don't like that shit.

Ha the last time I had a landline phone was the later 90's. Even then everyone around me was like "you still have a landline??"
I bowed to peer pressure and got one of those old Kyorcera buy by the minute cell phones.

but I do remember when you needed to have phone, line etc repaired, they would be out same day exactly when they said they would and fix it no charge.
