Anyone on Rollitup have Coronavirus?

Got a source for that?
Yes it is all verifiable. I can't find the date of the investigation rn, but they concluded it was airborne and began border restrictions on Dec 31. They notified the WHO of human-human on Dec 31 too, and were ignored with the WHO parroting China's response that they "had not found any obvious human-human transmission". Taiwannews.com.tw/en/news/3904054

Go to who.int (their situation reports released daily are great sources of info) and see, taiwan is not listed. They have been listed by the who as the taiwan province of china among other things despite being recognised by the UN. There is even an internal who memo that insists that they must refer to taiwan as a part of china. That taiwan has been shut out of who meetings and relies on other countries to get or share any first hand knowledge is also a problem. Taipeitimes.com/news/front/archives/2011/05/10/2003502850 ten years and they can't fix their mistake.

Sorry if it was blunt. Typed while eating lunch. Added this above before I saw your reply..

I don't mean we shouldn't try to help everyone but how many of these people would have died this year anyways? There are now 30 million more unemployed people, that's insane. I just want to say that without being heartless, there is a tradeoff to make.

And yeah, I'm the kind to see silver linings in everything and to take what I can get, so despite the death, maybe it's not all bad. It's like when your buddy dies in a basejumping accident and you say "well at least they died doing what they loved"

When they go basejumping , they expect to have a parachute. They don't expect their buddy to say at least he had a good time before he hit the ground.
Just like the old folks expect the nursing homes to be their parachute.
They don't expect people to say "Fuck em! They lived long enough and are too costly to patch up."
What's your next move...buy all the housing real cheap from bankrupt widows or just buy your buddy's stuff cheap at an estate sale?
Is that the silver lining you are referencing?
What bothers me the most is the refusal to have a discussion on exactly how much is extending the life of an older person worth in terms of suffering of the younger generation. In ontario 700/800 deaths have occured in old age homes. These people are a tax burden on everyone. The reaction to this has been.. Ok I think, caution is good. But now that we have real data it is overblown.
So discuss it, what is next after the old weak, ill tax burdens are gone? Most those people actually pay taxes, or paid them all their lives so you could benefit. You are living on their shoulders and want to throw them in the mud.
Where is the line for you, Alzheimer patient or newborn babies who don't deserve care?
Explain how the old, infirm, tax burdens should be cared for in your perfect new order. Are you building a composter? This is your chance to enlighten us.

Not blunt at all.
Thanks. Eye opening stuff.

We're doomed.

The only way out of this mess is to ban political donation. Let the government hand candidates $20 million for their campaigns. Not a penny more. Anyone outside of a campaign that puts up a billboard goes directly to jail. Freedom of speech be damned. Time to clean that shit up.

Eye opening, as in a cult that walks in goose step.
First the immigrants, the press, then the infirm, next the outsiders for blame.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Power corrupts.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

The two political parties, although diametrically opposed on most issues, still have virtually absolute power when combined together. The only thing that changes is the ebb and flow of who's currently calling the shots.

It also doesn't help that a massive percentage of people are stupid. But even if they were informed and on top of things, power still corrupts.

It's a perfect system for politicians who can now just say fake news when challenged. When a bunch of senators can dump stock after a covid-19 meeting in January, you can clearly see something is radically wrong with the system. Millionaires are not necessarily the best representatives of the common man. There are a few exceptions but not enough of them.

Money in politics is the modern cold war arms race. It would be better spent on humanity but back to the second line of this post. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I guess Alex Jones and the KoolAid Gang are moving on to cannibalism next. Eat the poor is the new crazy today.

“I will admit it — I would eat my neighbors,” Jones said. “I’m not letting my kids die. I’m just going to be honest. My superpower is being honest. I’ve extrapolated this out — and I won’t have to for a few years because I’ve got food and stuff — but I’m literally looking at my neighbors now and going, ‘I’m ready to hang ’em up and gut ’em and skin ’em.”

The only way any ‘good’ can come out of this is if there is a positive change for the better. Like, the creation of a utopia afterwards. A epiphany by USA and the world, where the rich 1% are no more and the poor starving people of the world get a few $$ to live. And as for the waffle I’m about to eat- grains grown in USA, then sent to China to be ground into flour. Then shipped to kasickstan to be pressed into a waffle shape. Then sent to bangleadesh for packaging, then sent to Toronto for distribution, and then sent to me. Wow meanwhile I am a grain farmer. How dumb. That needs to stop.
It should be highly encouraged that everyone grow a garden. Those who do get a garden tax rebate. There are people out there that don’t know that you can grow FOOD for FREE. There are also a lot of very unsmart people out there..

This is the real argument, but do you have that teddy you had as a kid, or did you toss it when it was no longer useful to you.

I never ment ah, fuck the old people, they're worthless. But the average age of people dying is 80 (median age is 80, average age is debatable because of data but I will argue it's close to 80, see italy and new york city), more than 50% have three or more comorbidities, these are not healthy people. Yes, we need to take their wishes into account, but there are 280 million more people to consider too. How many children are going hungry because of this, not just here but in countries we export to such as africa. How many children are missing an education right now, how many people are dying or suffering because of missed surgeries. That is all, when you weigh it out, the scale tips heavily in favour of the young who are still yet to contribute to the economy rather than the old who have not only stopped contributing, but now are net losses. Sucks but it's reality.

Ignoring what your deliberately derisive spelling of entire nations reveals about you ...

a garden isn’t food.
It’s what food eats.
This is a food.

First they came for the gays, and because they were few, they got protection

Then they came for the african americans, and because they were few, they got special treatment

Then they came for the trans, and because they were few they got special treatment

Then they came for me— but because I am either in the majority or refuse to use their labels, I am given second class treatment in the country I pay just as much tax and have exactly as much right to be free in as them, but because they are few, it is their right to walk all over us!
