Anyone find autos a waste of time?

Day 50 from sprout. These are in the garage and well-sealed...but I can smell it on the second floor at the back of the house. I put in a new carbon filter....I don't bother with one until they stink. The smell is completely gone now in the house.

I have 4 weeks to go with these and then I'll break everything down until the fall when temps drop. I'll probably do a photo run then. I am coming to the end of my last photo stash...it was a nice one too. Ethos Mandarin Cookies. This run is Mephisto 3BOG. I've grown it 15 times now...each run was like this one. Very predictable. And always stellar.

I already know this auto run will be as good...or even better than my photo run.

Anyone who starts a thread to bash autos is probably just venting really. Just Imagine if autos had decades of R&D as photos have had....would we even be having this discussion?

Don't it suck wasting our time ripping off a lb. every time we light up the tents? LMAO I'm liking the autos myself. Not saying photos are better OR worse but you buy consistent genetics, autos will treat you right. Nice run my friend.
 
I remember when there werent any autos around yet..then there was lowryder, and with time and willingness breeders and homecrossers began creating autos with photos ,and some forcing the fem photo to grow balls and seed itself ,making seeds on its own plant .Backcrossing works with most if you want to seed a nice autoF1 you created with the same strain. Nowdays theres more better auto types phenos it seems..,nice photo hunted phenos showing up are fewer than before.

Thanks. It became a path of lesser resistance more than anything. After f**king up so many other strains I found I had good luck with this one so I stuck with it.

Trial and error....and a lot of dumb luck really haha... :weed::weed:

Just a FYI, Fourm Stomper was a breeze to run. So if you are looking for a change of pace, I can vouch for that one. And still stay with Memphisto.
 
I stopped playing with autos a few years back 4 ass monkey and ethos original Ogr5 auto were the best 2 in my opinion

ethos then crossed the og with pluto cut and the pack i ran sucked

everything memphisto is decent tho
 
OP, I don't get it either. Do they not have calendars or can't count? But then I won't get near 'this mornings strain' which tastes and smokes like every other hybrid available. That isn't just my opinion, Mr. Commercial "Kevin Jodrey" is now starting to say the same thing.
 
Matty I gotta stop (as the thread says) wasting my time. Every time the lights come on there's a lb. of really good smoke. What am I thinking? I guess go back to photos and grab some beans from Gary's Garage Beans. NOT.

That’s the thing about non-light dependent autos - you can throw pretty much any cycle on them.

Right now i treating a couple autoflower strains same as photos - 20/4 veg til transition / stretch then 12/12 with flowering photos. They seem to be just fine.

Simple veg / bloom cycles.

Some of the breeders from Dinafem started a new brand called Silent Seeds using the same genetics, worth a try

No fucking way. I started old school outdoor with tree sized plants. I thought autos would be goofy but tried some out for a comparative grow and was quite impressed. Massive yield with set it and forget it genetics. If the grow failed you might have bad genetics or a weak setup.
