Anybody growing mushrooms willing to talk???

You know I keep talking about timing and casing but I think using a monoculture is probably the most important single factor

Any opinions on the effects of UVA light? Also wondering if it can be a bad thing instead of a good thing. I have a hlg UVA bar I want to experiment with.

I'd love to know. It probably does not help given that dappled sunlight is the Choice of most mushrooms but you never know.

Some kinds of mushrooms are reactive to the UV light and will be illuminated. Not sure if there are any active varieties that are fluorescent like that, but it would be cool if there was!

It's debatable whether supplemental UVA is really all that beneficial with plants.. I have a 30-40w LED bar but never tried using it to grow with. I go straight for UVB bulbs if anything, which is even more highly discouraged against in the mycology realm. I just use it for artwork

I say try it over a tub though!

Amanitas become the most potent when they absorb the UVs in the summer. Pretty sure mushrooms convert the extra UV over to vitamin D, but not sure with psilocybes/etc. What if the extra vitamin D in your cubes gives you a better happier trip?

Could be it's from dripping water from the top on the mushrooms.

Yep exactly my thoughts. Either that or I made the tub too wet

I'm about to do some side by side tubs. Same strains but one will be cased the other not, and see what tub does better. I'm hearing the casing literally does nothing but it doesn't cost anything so I'm going to give it a try.
