What do you all find is the best way to get the pesky stupid clinging vermiculite bits off the bottoms without having to individually inspect every fruit? I am just trying throwing these in the dehydrator as is cuz I am lazy and letting the fan and heat dry it out and blow it away? hopefully? lol

Be careful. Most reports that I've seen about dehydrators going faulty (and possibly starting to melt/smoke.. although rare) are because little chunks of mushrooms/substrate fall or get sucked down in, and get caught up in the heating/fan components inside the units.

I came up with a new dehydration tek:

Take a metal mesh waste basket (about 5 gallon bucket sized), and add a hatch for the lid (using some hardware cloth and wire for twisty ties, etc), and maybe a few mesh panel sections to act as trays added vertically inside of it, to stack apart the fruits into multiple layers instead of one big clump..

Then use a big enough magnet on the bottom section of the basket to stick it to the door or back wall right inside in your clothes dryer. Center it in the middle so the paddle that flips the clothes around has clearance all the way around the basket when the drum is spinning, so it doesn't hit into it. Should just barely fit with some room.

Then, turn on the dryer to the highest settings and dehydrate HUGE loads all at once, like doing a load of clothes that just came out of the washing machine!

Most people don't even realize they have a 240v 30 amp dehydrator with a super powerful element in their house already!

These pictures always remind me that I CAN do it! Not going to let trichoderma get me down anymore

Recall I said you cannot filter your way out of contamination.

Neither can you scrub your way out. You have even changed your personal and home biomes.

Have you checked spore levels with dishes? Until you do you have no idea of the problem.

Oh how i love mycology. I've been addicted for over a decade now. I find it so rewarding. I recently set up a spare room for all my extraction equipment. I've got so many fruits i cant eat them all, so dual extraction of all my medicinal and gourmet made sense. And all my recreational fruits get powdered and put through a 00 capsule machine. They seem to retain potency much longer than dried fruits.

I've heard that before, never tried it though, I'd need alot of honey for storing my cubes. But, I've got some pan cyans I'll try that with. The only thing I'd be concerned with is them breaking up when being retrieved out of the honey, and then weighing up a dose with the extra weight.

Yeah it might be a lil trickier to judge doses
