Anybody growing mushrooms willing to talk???

Back in early '22, I decided to try to grow some shrooms just for shits and giggles. Watched about 5 hours of YouTube how-to videos and decided to just wing it beyond that. Being a broke-ass, I set aside about $125 and decided to see if I could pull of a low-budget grow. Got 2 "supercharged" syringes from SporeStore (Golden Teacher and B+), 3 two-pound all-in-one grow bags from Amazon, six 12qt Sterilite tubs, micropore tape, etc, etc. Assumed I'd fail miserably, since I'm in a desert and we have 5 dogs constantly in and out of the house. Was anal about wiping everything down with Isopropyl, but not much I could do about the sand and dust swirling everywhere. It turned into a ridiculous success. Had three 12qt dub-tubs and got at least 3 good flushes from each. Ended up with well over a QP dried. Here's the kicker; turns out I don't really like shrooms anymore. Got a huge baggie of them in my freezer and no apparent interest in tripping. Seem to have lost a bunch of pics, but here are the few decent ones I could find.

did you try smaller doses? like a 1/4 of what you'd take to get stoned. very mello, especially to wander around in the great outdoors. or a grocery store.

I dabbled with micro-dosing for a brief time. Basically just tried to do enough to give me a little pep for my daily walking routine. Didn't really seem to have much effect. Either I'd feel nothing, or I'd take just a little too much and get trippy.

so how are things going now dude? I did the pf tek the whole time i was in college. Im too old for that now, but I have alot of experience growing them several ways. My buddy and I came up with some novel ways to greatly increase your production and keep them flushing longer. Since this is an older thread, im not gonna go into answering the question posited as that has been done already. But if you want a few tips like how to triple the jars 1 syringe can inoculate and using other ingredients in the substrate besides brown rice flour or dealing with issues, then I will gladly tell you what i know. Its a fun hobby, but still illegal as shit where im at so I wont risk my family. But I would love to share what I know before I forget it. Peace!
most everyone here are all ears ,i want to hear about it any old pics?

I've only got 1 grow under my belt, so take this with a huge grain of salt, but that looks like roughly the colonization level of my spawn when I put it in tubs. Worst case scenario, you just give it a bit more time to fully colonize your substrate before initiating fruiting conditions.

No pics, this was in the mid to late 90's. I started off buying from a hippie doing straw bales in an outbuilding.Insane yields. Pounds per flush. He started selling us birdseed bag "kits" for $20. After colonization you put peat moss on top and keep it moist. 2-3 flushes total about 1-2 zips. The PF tek was great because you could keep hundreds of jars rotating flushing continuously but if you needed a few weeks off just dont open any for a bit. I learned i could sterilize my own birdseed bags and cannibalize a jar to make spawn. It was fun until i read about a guy got caught with a qp and did 2 years. I had almost 200 jars. I shit my pants. Graduated 2 months later and didnt continue. I had no idea how much things have changed. Now you guys can order EVERYTHING you need off the net, have better, easier to use methods and more strains than i knew existed. Even legality in many places. I dont think there's much I can contribute that yall dont already know or know a better way. I see now its like some dude thats only grown regular weed outside giving advice on growing autoflowers inside under LED's. Some stuff might be relevant but im in no position to be giving you guys advice. I was good at the pf tek. I hardly ever had a jar fail. But these straw logs and stuff i see yall using look alot simpler to get big yields. I enjoy discussing the topic but im not gonna pretend im the expert anymore. Just an old enthusiast. Im a pothead only now. I do appreciate how far the craft has come. ✌

Aztecs never smoked them. You all got that from a series of books , "the teachings of don juan" by Carlos castenada. The author made it all up.
Im not surprised at that. Like i said, it was in my young/dumb years. I didnt read castenada, but maybe whoever mentioned it did. Who knows? did try smokin em. And they did zip.

I think he was just talkin about the coco coir itself being to wet, over the capacity, and all the fine coco silt that washes to the bottom in a layer, where all the extra water would be pooling up, making it appear like mud.

Thank you. I was waiting for this comment

The trick is, instead of trying to remove water by squeezing it out, is to just add some vermiculite until it seems right. Untill you squeeze it, and only a few drips trickle down your hand. As for the mud, if its just fine coco powder, it probably wouldn't hurt other than its too soupy. Thats my guess..

It the coir is so wet it’s muddy you should squeeze it out some. If the spawn is clean it’ll be fine but if there’s any sort of contam or bacteria it’ll explode in that thick muddy stuff.

as for that spawn bag it’s impossible to tell once it’s broken up. If it was solid white all over before you broke it open you’ll be fine, if it was patchy there’s gonna be problems. It looks like it was probably done or close to it based on those chunks. The thing is once you break it up it doesn’t look white anymore sowe won’t be able to tell.

This is AMVP, also a good example of TOO many mushrooms. With pinsets this thick a lot of the time they’ll either abort or stay tiny like these are.
