we've been getting snow the last 5 days or so here. our day temps are decent but we are still way below 32f at niteYes plant, shit Im in Canada and planted on 4 20.My eyes were about an inch long and i went 4" deep.
No problem, as long as day temps are good.we've been getting snow the last 5 days or so here. our day temps are decent but we are still way below 32f at nite
I'd just burry them and leave a few to 6"'s out.i'm just worried about below freezing temps if i put them out now. memorial day is my go-to date .
they are maybe egg sized? bigger than a golf ball for sure. but the sprouts/tentacles are quite long.
minimum amount of potatoes would be a three good serving of potatos for three meals, with a few left over. they water themmselvs from the bottom, but this year were going to give them a top watering every so offten so were expecting larger harvests.please explain. you mean each one of those blk buckets in that picture did how many potatoes?
I might get some snow tomorrow. They grow fast. How are you doing them? When I had all those rows. I did the rows far apart and hoe'd up the rows taller as the plants grew taller. The trenches get deep and the rows get tall and you get lots of potatoes! Way more than you'll need. How many are you planting?we've been getting snow the last 5 days or so here. our day temps are decent but we are still way below 32f at nite
getyourself some old tyres (car), cut the rims off and then you have the perfect raised bed ,just fill with soil and plant your squash in them. thats hat we doMy Yukon Golds have been growing for awhile. These were planted about 18 inches deep and I've filled in as they grew. It looks like I need to scavenge some soil and add a few more inches.
I planted some red potatoes in the trenches on the left. The potatoes on the right are volunteers from potatoes I must have missed last year. I'm not expecting much from them but I couldn't bring myself to rip them out. Now I need to find a spot for my summer squash which was going in that spot.
I've seen that done. But I'm going for a more natural garden and old rubber tires don't really fit into that plan. But they do work.getyourself some old tyres (car), cut the rims off and then you have the perfect raised bed ,just fill with soil and plant your squash in them. thats hat we do
Yeah I may live in the hood but my yard doesn't have to look like it lol.I've seen that done. But I'm going for a more natural garden and old rubber tires don't really fit into that plan. But they do work.
i use a old fridge (both compartments) and do the same thing. start them on the bottom and keep adding dirt as they grow.I might get some snow tomorrow. They grow fast. How are you doing them? How does it drain?i use a old fridge (both compartments) and do the same thing. start them on the bottom and keep adding dirt as they grow.
i''ve got 4 of those mesh bags of starters from wal mart. i cut them in half usually. pretty much the whole fridge in the end
i drilled a few holes thru the insulation/shell. it works really well: hail got all my shit last year. gonna fashion up some type of cover like a window screen this season. How does it drain?
potatoes when grown in soil, do something to the soil, like legumes leaving nitrogen nodiles in the soil, nitrating it, old potato soil makes fotr great soil for growing cannabis in.Potato growers?
Yes, some of us may be a bit of a potato when it comes to growing, but no need to make a thread.
