Any Mars hydro experts out there ?

I have a ts1000 , was going to purchase two more to power my 48x48x80 tent that’s on its way . You think it is better to just buy the tsw 2000 or purchase the two 1000s ? The specs are all almost the same no matter the scenario I choose . But I feel like there’s something I’m missing . Hoping someone is seeing something different? Also both paths are almost virtually the same price give or take a few dollars ....

So you currently have a ts1000?
This is for a flowering tent right?
You would get way better coverage if you purchased 3 more ts1000 vs 1 tsw 2000 the ts1000 is made too cover a 2x2 flowering footprint aka 4 sq ft the tsw 2000 can cover a 3 x 3 flowering footprint aka 9 sq ft. You have a 4 x 4 tent aka 16 sq ft so 4 ts 1000 would give u perfect coverage in your tent.
But
Buying a tsw 2000 and putting it together with your ts 1000 would work and would be cheaper than 3 more ts 1000 also the yields wont be bad at all, but the coverage wont be as good.

I'd just like to add that having multiple smaller lights allows you to adjust the lights how you want for full coverage, better penetration. Much easier than trying to raise/lower plants to keep the canopy even.
After running 8 separate COBs for 3 yrs now, I couldn't go back to one large light.

Also look at the power draw at the wall a tsw 2000 draws close too 300 watts while a ts 1000 draws 150ish? And if you look at par maps online the ts1000 can only cover a 2x2 while the tsw 2000 can cover a 3x3 flowering footprint
He only has 1 light that can only cover 4 sq ft and his tent is 16sq ft trust me a tsw 2000 + a ts 1000 is way better than 2 ts 1000 in this scenario his tent is too big.

Yup I'd go with 4 ts 1000 for perfect coverage

I have one now , but will be spending roughly a budgets of 280 $ on either the 2000 or two 1000s . I feel like your right in saying get two 1000s . Better coverage, better light penetration based on maneuverability. I appreciate everyone’s input . Right now the ts I have is powering a small 4ft tall 3 for wide and 18 inch deep box . So when the tent arrives I’ll need back up lighting . Gonna buy the two ts1000s . SIDE NOTE : I find it odd that my research says that a 48x48x80 requires at minimum 500 true watts and yet Mars states their tsw 2000 can cover a 4x4 but on has true watts of 300 . How is this possible ?

4 x 4 veg footprint and some plants like lettuce require less light than cannabis so you could light up a 4 x 4 with 1 light if your growing other types of plants
Remember your tent is 16 sq ft in total a ts 1000 only covers 4 sq ft flowering footprint
so 2 of them would only cover like 8 sq ft properly.

Get 2x the tsl-2000 not the tsw that light was designed to cover 2x4 perfectly...if maximum light coverage is your goal go that rout I have both the tsl-1000 and the tsl-2000 and I can tell you for a fact 2x Tsl-2000 in a 4x4 will out perform an hlg 550 in every aspect the Tsl-2000 will run you 270-285$ hang it up in the center of your tent and it will veg them for up to 7 weeks if u place them accordingly and give u time to save up for a 2nd

Two Mars-Hydro TSW-2000 in a 4x4x8 tent did this. 5 gal pots of Mother Earth coco/perlite and I believe back then I was running Advanced Nutrients Connoisseur PH Perfect base with green bottle big bud and botanicare calmag @ 5ml/gal.

I wouldn't purchase the 1000 you will just be disappointed and wish you got the 2000 panels. By the way the actual wattage is more like 300 total watts per/fixture (each driver burns 150 watts max) and they definitely do not equal a 2000 watt light lmao maybe more like a 600 watt ceramic metal halide.

The Mars Hydro get very hot so personally I'm transitioning over to Growers Choice ROI-E720 fixtures one by one as my budget allows..

Dang nice picture man so you ran 2 300w led.panels in a 4 x 8 tent!!!! Not bad I wonder what the yield was :)
May I ask what nutrients u use today? Like what company? I'm curious

Today I'm using House & Garden Cocos A&B with the Amino Treatment, Bud-XL, Top Shooter (Liquid version of Shooting Powder) and Drip Clean.

I've ran General Hydroponics, Advanced Nutrients, Heavy 16, Cyco, Green Planet and Botanicare nutrient lines and by far the best and most clean product is going to be House & Garden. Their products actually do what they say and they're highly concentrated and produce excellent results.

All supplements are by House & Garden as well. I could add a couple things in there but I prefer less bottles and keeping it simple.

The reason I switched from Advanced Nutrients is with my higher demand setup their nutrients are pretty rich in Nitrogen and actually cause burn when you try to boost your feed strength above 1200 ppm. I no longer grow in tents but it was really fun while it lasted.

Sadly I can not afford two 2000s . That would set me back like 600$ almost at 280$ each . I can only afford the 280$ right now . Which is why I’m torn between the two 1000s or just by the one 2000 and add it to the 1000 I currently already own . This will be for both veg and flower . Thanks for all your help guys , really . Been racking my brain for two days about this . Reading numbers and searching deals lol

Also hypothetically what can I really achieve in dry weight with 2 plants with 3 , ts1000s . In that 48x48x80 . I have fox farm trio nutes . Soil will be ocean forest . Cal mag plus . Proper ph solutions . I know my temps and rh. What could one really achieve with this lay out ?

Decided to run 4 ts1000s . I’m over budget by one light but screw it . I should be more than comfy with veg and flower right ? Having 4 ts 1000s ?

Hey bud. So you went with 4 TS1000s? You should certainly have plenty of light with 37.5 watts per square foot. I won't comment on Mars as I have never run one but many people do. As for your question of what you can really achieve, it's all on you so no real good way to even guess. Look at BK78's grow journal in his signature. He clearly puts in a ton of work on the plants, nothing but large colas and a good even canopy. He runs Meijiu lights which are a cheap Chinese light but he rocks them and shows plants don't really care what brand name is on your lights. You can achieve a great yield from a 4x4 tent if you:
Start with good genetics.
Use your medium properly.
Dial in temp and humidity.
Dial in air flow.
Train your plants properly.
Dial in how much light at different stages of development.
There are so many factors when it comes to yield I would not even hazard a guess. At this stage I would just worry about checking off the items on that list and if you get that stuff right you will yield well. Good luck.

Thanks for the kind words man ! Second grow . First time indoors. As for mediums , sadly I just run the fox farm oceanic blend straight up . I haven’t started mixing soil additives. Just the fox farm trio line nutrients . I heard Gia green has incredible stuff . There is a guy on YouTube I watch a lot mrcanuck he very fond of gia. But anyway , I’m definitely sitting comfy with 4 of those lights for that space . I’m not under powered ?
