An idea I’ve had

I’m sure it might have been done many times before but I’m new to growing and was looking for the best way to germinate seeds and thought of this cheap alternative to a propagation dome, I’ve cut two bottles in half and planted my seeds into coco

Has anyone ever tried this?

That looks pretty wet. You don't need a dome for seedlings. You're risking dampening off.
Another thing, I grow in 100% coco and don't think I'll ever change. Excellent results once you get it all figured out. I do however start my seedlings in small 2.5" * 2.5" containers of soil. The reason I do that is because coco has nothing in it. Soil has enough stuff that once the seedling sprouts it will have everything it needs for awhile and you can just leave them alone until they outgrow the small containers. Once the roots fill the small containers I replant into 100% coco.
Good luck and happy growing.

WTF is in the bottle? I have never seen any growing/seedling mix that looks like that.
They're using coco coir.

Yeah I was worrying that my coco didn’t have any nuteutrients for my seedlings to survive, I’ve got some coco sensi grow and sensi bloom, I wasn’t sure if it would be too strong for them as my seedlings that have sprouted are only small I didn’t want to fry them

That is exactly why I start in very small containers of soil. Just be careful to not feed them too strong a nutrient solution and you should be fine. I just found it was easier to go the soil route rather than have to baby the seedlings.
I like the bottle idea you're using. I've seen it before but for cloning. You don't really want that much moisture with a new seedling because you invite dampening off which is a killer. Unlike clones seedlings have a tap root that is growing and providing for the plant. And yeah, keep us posted on your grow.
Good luck
