Amount of light when transplanting to outdoors?

Kinda crazy question but does anyone, when transplanting cuttings from indoors to outdoors, sort of mimic the daylight what it may be outdoors before putting them out? For instance, cuttings taken , rooted in 18 hrs daylight or whatever, but outdoors is only 14 hours of daylight in say May.

I learned this the hard way. Personally I would try a 15/9 light schedule the next time I plan on putting something outside. To see if the plant will stay in veg. The plant will try to flower, and reveg if going from 18/6 straight outside to 14-15 hours of daylight. However it wasn’t horrible. The plant was pretty sturdy in the end.
Wet weather likes to set in heavy prior to winter, so auto’s will be the only thing going outside anytime in the future for me.

Most cannabis will start flowering at 14.5 hrs of daylight.. Check the day length in your area..
I get 15hrs on Mothers Day..

Run them 18/6 and then gaslight them when they’re outside. All you need is a good LED spotlight on the plants for 4 or 5 hours from dusk on. I put seedlings out in March last year using gaslight method. The did great (but it doesn’t get too cold here). Unfortunately, they were 9’ tall when they went into flower.

Thanks , I think I get 15 solid light hours around Mothers day as well. Something like that.

I'll try the 15/9 cycle before I put them outside. And yes we get two 'mud seasons' one in the Spring, one in late Fall here. This var. I am talking did great but it does have 10W flowering so it was out there Halloween.

I too learned the hard way on my first go of it in 2015. Was more worried about frost/freeze than the light schedule. Bad move. Everyone did OK but a couple re-vegged and did that "I'll bud for you...but nothing tight or dense...sorry...you blew it" gig.

Now I wait til June 1-10 to put em out...depending on the weather. We can still frost here up to...and sometimes into June. It isn't worth the risk here. I just veg em longer inside. They still get 5-8 ft tall. On the other side...it can frost here in Sept....but on the backside/in flower these plants will take below freezing temps...no problem. Growth will slow...but they will keep trucking.

I have tried the solar light/led light trick and it does work if you need to keep em in veg/have the season on the other end to do so.

if you can start them outside in your area they will roll right into the Solstice w/o flowering....but going from inside to out is always a crap shoot. Some plants are just super sensitive to the change. Good luck folks!
