I won't get to hunt nearly as much this year but I'm looking forward to the days I will be able to get out.

I can relate - spent a couple of years in Illinois & shooting deer with a bow is a special rush.
And that corn/bean fed meat is worth the effort.

It is very good feeling to stalk your prey, sit in a tree, and shoot an arrow into the heart of a large mammal that will feed your family for monthes to come. That to me is what life is and should be, survival. "TAKE ME BACK, BACK WHERE I BELONG", couldn't have said it better myself.Be safe this season everyone and whether your gettin meat or lookin for a trophy, good luck.

A guy on a Michigan sportsman forum wrote this last night.

"At long last dusk has finally settled over the mid west and we sit once again eagerly awaiting the dawn of a new day. For some tomorrow has little significance. It is just another Monday morning they must force themselves to come to terms with. A morning where they must drag themselves out of bed and prepare for yet another day of work. However, for us tomorrow holds a much deeper meaning. For us, dawn will signify more then just another Monday. It will signify a new season. And as the sun slowly begins to make the earth around us glow a faint blue we will embark on a new game of cat and mouse. Unfortunately, some will come to find out by seasons end that while they set out as the Cat, they were in fact destined to play the mouse. Others sit here reading this paragraph unaware that they are about to embark on the best season of their lives. However, No matter what our destiny holds, tomorrow we enter the season with new hope, new dreams, and new goals. 2012 is sure to be Legendary. Just as every season before it has been. This fall records will fall, and lasting memories will be made. And while October 1st may not be the start of your season it is a day that brings us all together as hunters. As tonight’s full moon gives way to morning light we will head to the woods carrying a legacy on our backs. One that has withstood the test of time. And one who’s future is in our hands. Never forget that fact. Never forget that WE are Michigan Sportsman"
