all stem small leaves

I am new to growing, and we just started about 1 1/2 2 weeks ago. We germinated the seeds in wet papertowels, planted them in good soil, and now they are just growing from their stems. there are about 4 leaves on each plant and on average about 5 inches tall. THey are real scrawny looking and I dont know what to do. We have had to tie a few of them up because they were falling over. the leaves look pretty healty, but all pictures I have seen of the same age plants look way better. If you know anything to help please let me know.

LIGHT!!! you need better light, what are you using? please research what you need before you germinate seeds, because you usually end up losing the plant.

a florecent growing light, about 2 inches above the plants

will putting more soil around the stems help to keep them stable or is steaking them up enough?

Yes, but still MORE LIGHT. you need a MINIMUM of 4 26 watt cfls per plant. or two 42 watt cfls. you can get either at a local grocery or appliance store.

add more soil. up to the first set of leaves.

falling over? sounds like its stretching to much. maybe need stronger light and if you are using CFL keep them fairly close within inches
