I just know they will do better if you water them sparingly at first, this makes it root pretty aggressively. If you then later take on some method of promoting air pruning future plants it will get even better.
By no means should your medium ever go bone dry But you gotta make that seedling work. Out in nature it would be germinating somewhere out in the open sun and will have to do the same to flourish and reproduce.
True.

Worse, water can displace air in the soil, drowning the roots. The smaller the plant, the easier this is to do.

It will be fine with that pot. I have a couple of largish ladies in flower in winter in a winter rainfall area.
I'll probably move them under the clear shade house in a week or two to start keeping em dry when it rains. The pots are heavy though.

Well today/tonight's update. The girls were dry as hell this AM and all got a water and feed this morning with the Cal-Mag+, Neptunes Harvest, Coconut, Aloe, and Silica powders. The Auto's got their bloom regimen in the AM of Ionic Bloom, Cal-Mag +, Hydroplex, and Hydroguard.

This evening now everyone had drank and was dry again. This time I fed Ionic Grow, Cal-Mag+, and Hydroguard to everyone except the SBA and the Auto's. The Auto's got their regular feed as stated above. I left the SBA dry until tomorrow to see what they do. They can go until then and I might just take cuts and chop them down tomorrow we will see.

Now for the pics and there's a few tonight..................

Those seedlings want more light.
Just park the little pots on top of the soil of the small plant in the front right. :weed:

I agree tired and done for the night, they will get propped up tomorrow have a tupper ware somewhere in the garage I can throw down under them to lift them. I don't stress the long stems at the beginning though because you can just bury them deep upon transplant. And go figure 600W and they still want more lol.

Like you say, you could transplant them deep, but the alternative is, they get more light from the start so they can pump more into building a rootstock which allows them to get going harder and faster.

My plants in veg are getting that purple stem with a woody branch feel.

How are you plants feeling that have purple stems ?

I've had to play with the feed and the calmag. The GG#4 has been the worst with the purple stem. I started doing an alternating feed schedule with the Ionic nute and what not with more natural stuff and lower EC (Fish Fertilizer) and all of the plants are responding well. I was slightly heavy on the N because the way the plants looked under the LED's (lighter than the really are) we will see how it goes. I just know these plants right now are feeding too much to just water with no food in it at all. I'm honestly just waiting to burn througgh what's left of the Ionic (I love this stuff) so I can start on the Nectar for the Gods sample kit I received. Very excited about that.

I'm not 100% sure yet on what direction to take for the bigger tent, organics or not. I really like my no till man but it's just a bitch indoors. I'm hoping the Nectar for the Gods will be a happy medium between organics and synthetics we will see. The local shop just put all their NFTG stuff on sale @ 40% off but I don't want to load up on stuff just because of price without having used it.

Yeah my legendary jack look like your gg4 with the purplish. Prior I was using a lot of cal mag. So I did a flush with low nutes without the cal mag. I think that was the issuE will see.

Simple is always easier and usually gets better results why I am wanting to go back to no till..............

@714steadyeddie

If I went no till in the big tent I would basically setup (2) 4x4 areas. Grassroots makes fabric pots I love them cheap and durable. And high quality. Well now they make beds with frames for trellis. My only concern is what do I do about run off man the soil has to be kept moist can't let it dry out. When I used the pots I said fuck it and let the false floor insert handle run off but for two 4x4 beds how would I catch the run off. If I can figure this out this will be the way I go. My plants are just healthier and better to me when I do my no till and I get good yields despite what people say about soil.

Yea those grassroots containers are dope. I'm not too sure about the runoff part. From what I understand in no till you can just keep the soil moist and not worry too much about runoff since the mircoherd should be breaking everything down and making it readily available.

As far as your gg4 you should try and give it a good flush with just your basic nutes, I think there might been an excess cal or mag and it locks out phosphorus giving those ugly purple stems
