so i plant my seeds like 1 knuckle deep....which is less than 3 inches... and I've read that the top 3 inches stay dry... thats why i haven't started actually using the sips.

i still have time to hook up the filter system...but I'm actually going to put the funds towards making new lights to replace my older ones.
I'm still new to SIPs, but from what I've read and seen, the wick is packed and then the res is filled, and then the wick is wet from the top down before the soil goes in. This is to make sure that the wick is compacted and the water/wet medium is continuous so that you know for sure the wick is working without dry patches. Then the rest of the soil is added and its wet down (a layer at a time) as you add it.

That said, I screwed mine up a bit. I cut down, trimmed and hung one crop, cleaned my whole tent out, and then did the final assembly on my SIPs and loaded and up-potted plants right into them, without a break. It was a long day, and I forgot to soak my wicks and soak the soil as I added it. So, I had to flood them from the top to make sure there was continuous wetness top to bottom. What this did was it washed a bunch of soil particles and nutes etc. into my res. I ended out having some water clouding issues, and adding Hyrgozyme to my water. In the end other than clouding up my water level indicator tubes, it hasn't been a problem. My plants seem to be doing really well. I just wanted to give you a heads up, that you might run into a similar situation.

nothing really going on in the SIP room. waiting for the first set of feminized seeds to drop them in the other two pots right away. fucken waste of time and moola but shit happens.
looking likes its going to be Elmer's Glue by relentless genetics. two different glue strains: gorilla glue #4 and embers glue. WOOT

some ugly embarrassing photos, but if i show off my good...i must show off my bad.
they were really root0bound/over-vegged when they went into flower which lead to a lot of problems but they are finally recovering even though you can't see it. i hit a lot of the buds with black cherry dojo pollen from my super male. and there is ONE bud on the critical super silver haze that was popped up by a double purple dojo male.

DONT MAKE FUN OF ME
