Yeah not much Biden could do about that.

.i use firefox just fyi.....it's an open source browser....
I used to use Firefox on my old regular computer. Since I switched to mac I stopped using it since I figure I pay apple enough that they likely be better off protecting stupid people like me from opening my computer up more than I already am.

basically, and what funny to find out member of the GOP (Mitch & Graham) and the Military....told the orange avenger it was a bad deal...don't do it....he went on and did it anyways......putting the agreement right in Bidens lap.......
Then the question becomes how many calls to Putin/MBS/Netanyahu did Trump make leading up to that.

If Trump (and the rest) doesn't end up in jail I imagine one day there will be a heist movie end scene where all the dictators bilking the world's governments get together to celebrate.

This could have been Afghanistan. Think about that before spouting off. We failed that's for sure but it could have ended much worse.

You sound like someone sitting on a couch watching Beavis and Buthead.
Your argument things could have been worse and civil war was inevitable is too dumb to address, and the suggestion you want the best for the people there is absurd, but what on earth makes you think sitting on a couch and watching Beavis and Butthead is a bad thing?

Mind explaining why you say that?

I thought he meant the civil war being inevitable as if America stayed over there it would have eventually escalated into a civil war. And so far right now there has not been wide spread slaughter from what I have seen (like there would be if full out warfare with modern weapons was to break out).

It is too early to tell, but so far I think that he has a point that is not unreasonable, but am willing to see what you meant.

It’s obvious to me his playing concern for the people of Afghanistan is disingenuous and total bullshit. Do you believe he really cares for those “savages” living in that “shithole”?

Seriously?

The problem, as I understand it, is that the U.S didn't honor their word on their withdrawal date. Some parts of the world your word still means something. The Afghani's saw this as a sign of disrespect and the Taliban used this to turn all the tribes against the U.S. sighting that the U.S didn't trust them so they weren't honoring their word.
The Taliban are from the largest tribe. What they did was gone to the other tribes leaders one by one and made them a deal that if they lay down their arms they will be spared. Individually the other tribes are no match in a fight, together they might have been but the Pentagone though the best they could do was hold out for a couple of months befor the Taliban ultimatly win. So are you going to fight when the outcome will be the same except the winner may be pissed at you for doing it?

US commander vows 'overwhelming force' if Taliban interfere with evacuation
The U.S. has warned the Taliban that interference with evacuation efforts out of Afghanistan would be met with “overwhelming force,” Gen. Frank McKenzie, the commander of U.S. Central Command, said on Tuesday.

McKenzie said he met with Taliban senior leaders in Doha on Sunday and “cautioned them against interference in our evacuation, and made it clear to them that any attack would be met with overwhelming force in the defense of our forces.”

“The protection of U.S. civilians and our partners is my highest priority and we will take all necessary action to ensure a safe and efficient withdrawal,” he said in a statement.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki also told reporters at the White House that if the Taliban interfere in safe passage to the airport, "the consequences are the full weight and force of the United States military."

McKenzie said he evaluated the situation at Kabul's Hamid Karzai International Airport and said the U.S. military is “efficiently” operating the airfield and ensuring safe movement for civilians and diplomats.

National security adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters the Taliban assured the U.S. that the group would allow for civilians to safely get to the airport.

“U.S. military air traffic controllers and ground handlers are rapidly scaling up operations to ensure the smooth flow of military reinforcements to the airport and the evacuation of U.S. and partner civilians in coordination with our State Department colleagues,” McKenzie said. “Currently, the airfield is secure and now open to civilian air traffic operating under visual flight rules.”

The Pentagon has sent thousands of U.S. troops to help evacuate people and to secure the Kabul airport. The administration on Tuesday vowed to accelerate evacuation flights out of Afghanistan.

Over the next day, the U.S. military plans to provide one flight out of Kabul per hour, a pace that could evacuate up to 5,000 to 9,000 people per day, the Pentagon announced on Tuesday.

Let's see, 5 million at 9,000 a day, that makes 555 days. A year and a half. Do you think the Taliban can sit on their hands for a year and a half while Kabul empties?
