Yup...

and THAT is one of the main reasons more experienced growers say what they say...

"It is just an over priced container...."

But it has taught many of us what we need to know...

Call it indoor growing prep school... lol

I love mine, but a tupperware container with a bubbler is a much cheaper container...

No hate... just keeping it real...

Cheers...

to true bro.

i love the unit. next grow will be in a diy bubbler, however. more space for roots. but to get yourself going and instill confidence it's defo a winner. whats more is your money isn't wasted as you can use it for seedlings/clones or heaven forbid the normal crops. or give it to your mom for xmas lol.

Gotta say I LOVE MY AG though...

And I will keep growing on it... just not going to fork the bucks for the 3 additional units I need...

oh im not hating to say the least.. im just showing..what this thing could and will max out at ...from right from the box..no added light... i have herd enough about these things over the past few years and people trying to grow weed from seed in them..what a waste..and a joke... clones are the only option in my best judgement... and flowring them in a sog formation at 7 to 10 inchs will produce the most amount of smoke that would still be worth while for the first time or hobby ganga grower.....

and i only paided 40 bucks for this unit from a guy and it came with a new seed pack... also...funny that you mentioned it.. I will be sending this to my mom for xmas!!!...u got a huge laugh when i read that.... stay tuned

anyone want to link me to the timer i would need for the ag lights? i just dont know which one wil fit the light cord from the ag.

AGSteve

dopefeen, the timer will just be a normal timer. the cable with plug on the end would plug into that but needs the 8 type connection to plug in the ag hood. for instance a playstaion power cord, some laptop power cords (my dell fits, that's what i'm using) and i've also seen power cords from radios with that 8 type connection.

yeah i think that was it. i got the slim when it came out so i dont have the older model.....damn well i got the idea what i need thanks

Man I love this site...i haven't been able to get back to see the replies untill today but i just wanted to thank everyone for there advice on the root rot problem with aerogarden, because its getting cold I haven't had to much heat problem with the water..
BigBudBalls
side note..everytime i read one of your post that pics
just cracks me up , but am yeah anywho .. i bought superoxy
which is H202 the very 1st time i grew and saw the root rot..still
didn't help , which is y am so frustrated seeing all the success
people are having and i still am feeling like a rookie trying to get off
the bench lol

volcomi18
when i first started with the ag, i used there directions of changing the rez
every 2 weeks, my 2nd attempt i figured i didn't change it enough so i did it
every week and both still gave me root rot, so your idea volcomi18 just might
be my answer of just letting the water get near dry and pouring some fresh
water in..but to answer your question yes i do take the top off and clean the
rez out so i just might have been damaging the roots my self..

the DWC idea of just turning off the pump sounds pretty good..has anyone else had much success with this..I do have an 8 figure cord and I also bought a hps/mh light system a few months back so i am able to just turn the pumps off and still use the lights maybe this will bring me better luck..
AGSteve

side note..i also was able to find the ag at big lots if anyone has it in there area check it out...also big lots every quarter or so has a 20% sell
so i just waited for that to role around again and used a coupon too..
try..lookin on "slickdeals.net" its usually posted on there when they are gonna have there 20% sale

ps...beacuse of all the success people were having with auto flowers i
decided to grap some lr2 seeds and masterlow..so when i get my seeds am gonna try them..i have been using bag seeds since i have a ton to practice on so far...good thing too :-(

Well set the TiVo for Comedy Central this sat/sun at 1AM EST. Trailer Park Boys movie is on in the States. (since there is no swearing on CC, I think Ricky wont be in the movie:) )

H2O2, get the *real* stuff. 35% or 50%. Nothing extra (aka: no special sauces) Just H2O2. And it should be used full time, not as a 'fix'. But just don't use with organic nutes it will basically counter act.

For what its worth, I don't use the H2O2, only changed the res once in 5 or so months and have a micro mm going strong (spider mites are a different story, but under control.) I haven't tried to flower with the AG, nor do I plan on it.

edit: Best advice it to *chill*. A couple spots on a leaf is nothing to be concerned about. Too many new guys go overboard. Plants aren't perfect, just like people. They will take care of themselves if you just give them the same attention you do to a typical house plant. (grow a basil plant or something else in the AG at the same time as a litmus mark)

So can I ask, what do you use to flower?
i.e do you transplant them to soil/soiless pots or do you use another system?

I built a system with some poly tubbing, pump, and sprayers put inside a cooler, and then used a hole saw to drill two 6" holes on the top, got the idea from just reading diy section but I haven't tried it out yet...

i figure i may just use that with my 400 hps to flower..

ps..thanks i will try just buying some good ole regular h2o2, the superoxy says to add it to the water and let sit for a half hour then add the nutes so maybe i will try that with the regular h202 and it will help prevent the breakdown of the nutes

Soil. I toss them into it shortly after roots show. Wanna try some other stuff, coco, hydro and such. But soil is working well for me.

Hey guys,
This white widow was planted on 9/27/08 so it's about 10 days old. I started off with two small nutrient tabs from the Master Gardener Kit premixed in a bottle of spring water in which I adjusted the ph to about 5.8. I haven't added anymore nutes or water since then. There are 4 additional 27 watt Daylight CFLs in clamp lights around the aerogarden on a timer and I am using the tomato setting. This is the current condition of the grow room:

Ambient Temperature: 76ºF
Water Temperature: 82º
pH: 5.9 - 6.0
Humidity: 46%

I noticed one leaf tip started to curl up and become very brittle. Now, its opposite leaf is starting to do the same thing. I believe the plant looks healthy, but I'm hoping somebody can tell me what's wrong. Also, if I have to flush the reservoir how do I go about doing that? Thanks in advance!
