Advice with Lights Please Help!

I currently have a grow space thats about 8 sq. ft. I have 8 2ft. T5's in the room and have a 28W led that suppose to mimic a 250w HPS or MH.

1st issue: I have grew in this 8ft area before and have yielded some pretty good buds without the 28W led. After adding it to the room I was wondering if that is too much light, if thats even possible, for the 3 plants in that space. Or would removing half of the T5s still be enough light for the plant to thrive and yield some very good buds?

2nd question its really not an issue. I also clone my mother plant time and time again like most do. I wanted to have a little input on this... I have 2 T5 2ft bulbs above my clones. this is enough light for them I assume right? Now I was wondering this too... Since my lights are on a 12/12 schedule and I am usually up and about at both times when they come on and turn off. Would it be crazy to move the 28W LED above the clones for the 12 hours that the lights are off in my bloom room and replace the LED in the bloom room upon Lights ON time? Would this case too much stress on my clones to be switched to a better light for 12 hours a day them downgrade a bit while the LED is in the bloom room for 12 hours...I dont even keep my clones on 24 i keep them on 20 hours. So it would be 8 hours a day it wouldnt get as much light as it did when the LED was not in use. Would this cause my baby to herm? I really dont want that to happen.

If anyone could answer these for me tonight I would appreciate it so dearly. Just starting with this had some really n ice results and want to learn more and become experienced. Also attached a pic of a nugget i grew under the T5s. Thanks all

I'm still new to the scene, but I'm pretty sure as long as the temperatures are regulated and the soil is moist, I don't think there's such a thing as too much light. I'm sure there's a maximum amount of productivity that additional light will produce, a sort of diminishing returns, but if you have a beast light system, I'd assume making sure they have a hefty dose of CO2 would maximize potential light use.

As to the second question, going to have to defer to other people on that one

I would use the led in the flower room, it would be more useful there than to your clones. Clones don't need much light and the extra light spectrum in the flower is always optimal. There is no such thing as too much light, the target amount of light would be between 50 and 75 watts per square foot of canopy space... that is about the solar constant of the sun outdoor which is what you are trying to mimic with an indoor grow.

Too much light can be over-kill and destroy the plant's natural photosynthsis. Thus bleaching the plants and causing major problems. But on the flip side if you can and have enough space and its just to suppliment the light you already have then its not a bad idea. Just move the lights around under the canopy every day so that it spread's the amount of extra light for each plant....

I don't know what the truth of it is, but I dug this up in another post and thought the information was interesting and relevant. If/when I add more lighting to my system, it'll be for base of my leaves.

count up the lumens of all of your lights. optimal light for weed is 7,000 to 10,000 lumens per square foot of growing area.

Thanks guys for your help and comments. The main part about the light being on the clones was maybe misunderstood. My main concern was the changing in light, will it cause my plant to herm. I know clones don't need too much light to get em going, but will moving the LED over my clones to veg for 12 hours then moving the LED back to the flowering room cause my clones to Herm. I didnt know if the light had to be a constant light or if it could change during the day and not have an effect on the plant. If I am confusing I am sorry. I am trying not to be

definitely a reader failure, not the writing causing confusion. and no, it won't hurt to have extra light during part of the light cycle.
