i just switched over ligh from 18/6 to 24/0, 2 weeks into veg. i know alot of people perfer to run 24/0 and i`m sure its perfectly fine, with some due dillgence and such. but i do have 1 minor concern and could sue some advice from anyone who can help and/or have experece with running this ligt cycyle.
1) will my ballast and light be over worked? i have a 1000w digital, fan cooled dimmable ballast (apollo brand) and running MH at the moment. also am useing a wing reflector
Al;so i know all about the heat factor and such and am taking measures for that and also checking temps throughout the day. Actually the heat being produced by the light staying on is one of the main reasons (other then a higher growth rate) i am running at 24/0. it is starting to get cold where i live and my temps are dropping in my grow room, and when the lights are off the temps go way dwon (50s) and i have to run a heater to keep them into the 60s. iwas also running lights at night for the cold, and even with the lights off during the da y they dropped consiterably.
and as far as electricity useage is concerned the heater i am useing is 1250watt, and was running all 6 hrs the lights were off to maintain some heat. so in actuality just running the lights 24/0 is ctually saving me a little $.
any and all responses would be greatly appriciated.
