If you are referring to Palin and Alaska, umm, that state has been the LEADER in being KIND to weed smokers.

Maybe you should ask urself, if we have a LIBERAL Democrat President, and a Democrat Congress in full control vote wise, why weed isn't ALREADY legal/decriminalized nationally?

They aren't even discussing it.......

I think that's closer to being an example of opposites and hypocrisy.
you're joking. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/19/new-medical-marijuana-pol_n_325426.html

The problem with this whole pro statist Obama message is that we find after digging that he isn't some regular person getting into politics talking about issues that matter. He won politically with a slash and burn campaign that Karl Marx would be proud of. In his bid for Illinois senator, without a hint of experience, he went for wedge issue's. Tax credits, welfare, and government subsidies . Anyone who crossed him right or wrong was burnt at the stake by sympathetic liberal democratic attacks. This attracted the democratic national committee. To this day he'll out right lie and flip flop in any chance to bolster his "American" value's persona. He also never states that the reason for his legal problems is mostly due to opposition in the states! It's always liberal BS in his speeches. He has way too much hatred in his heart. In his mind there are only two types of Americans. "True" Americans who live in blue cities and contemptable patriotic conservative Americans that live everywhere else, and if you don't believe exactly as he does you are his enemy. Let's look at history and see who else has subscribed to this mindset; Mao, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, pol pot, etc they all divide the country to conquer it, as does Baraq Hussein Obama and his political slash and burn tactics.

MMJ is happening at the state level, not the Federal. Apples, and Oranges. Congress has the votes to legalize weed RIGHT NOW!!! Obama occupies the white house. It's a slam dunk!! So what's the delay???

They, the feds, have to finish marginalizing tobacco smokers before they elevate marijuana smokers to the tobacco heads previously held pedestal. There's only room for one "most favored" smoking class.

Doesn't need a big govt. program to set up. Simple decriminalization would do. What does it cost to draft a bill?

It certainly wouldn't be 2000+ pages would it?

the legislation in place doesn't make marijuana a federal offense because of a legislative issue, it is an administrative issue, at sole discretion of the DEA. they classify the drugs, they choose who to prosecute, they have the say.

the legislation was purposefully written this way so that decriminalization would be a long, arduous process.

the way to dicriminalize pot is to disband the DEA. you know how many people are employed by that much hated agency?? i agree we need to decriminalize, but firing all those people isn't the answer. after all, many of them have families to feed.

if he chose to pass legislation to decriminalize pot, you would demonize him for putting all those federal agents out of work.... the legislation needed to decriminalize pot has to be monumental, such as the health-care reform...

the war on drugs is a multi-billion dollar per-year business, there are plenty of stakeholders.... it's not as easy as pot being illegal one day, and legal the next.....

Have you ever listened to an Obama speech? Your post doesn't even make sense. Prove that he say's these things constantly. If you think that Tax credits, welfare, and government subsidies are wedge issue's than your a moron. I'm disappointed with Obama. But to actually think that republican conservatives help freedom and liberty for American's when looking at all the facts is blatantly ignorant. They are the people that fight tirelessly to pass laws limiting freedom. Again this is not a conspiracy this is fact. Look at laws passed against personal freedom in America. But facts and learinin are too much for you. You want to be told what to believe by talking heads and like a sheep follow whatever they do like a silly parrot. Your statements above about two Americas in which you sypathize with the 1 side of a fake culture war which is a propaganda campaign specifically designed for ignorant people like you.

I've listened to Obama's speeches. They consist of promoting wealth redistribution and calling for the individual to sacrifice for the good of the state. If you think that is a recipe for liberty and freedom, then you, my progressive friend, are the idiot. No disrespect intended.

Pay attention nooby. The DEA enforces the law, that's all. It only takes one bill to decrim weed. Then the DEA would enforce that law. see how that works?

Stay in skool kidz ... stay in skool.

damn, calling names and shit

you are wrong.

the legislation says that the DEA and NOT congress or the PRESIDENT says how drugs are classified dumbass...

look it up...

the bill that created the DEA is long, complicated, and very difficult to undo... just to give you a glimpse at how incredibly crazy the law is, it gives the DEA the ability to classify drugs, but once a drug is put in schedule 1, it cannot be removed, no matter what evidence is presented that proves it.... it also makes it illegal for the government to recognize any study that proves there is any medical benefit to a class 1 drug....

try again my man....

You are a bit thick aren't you. If weed was decrim'd by CONGRESS (duh), the Drug ENFORCEMENT equation would change now wouldn't it???

You can't enforce something which is NO LONGER ON THE BOOKS!

Stay in skool KIDZ!!

By ur logic, Congress is powerless over the DEA. What are you smoking? Stop...it's too much for you.

again, the law removed the legalization or not of drugs out of the hands of congress or the president..

YOU are a bit thick

even if congress wants to legalize pot, first they have to repeal the first law, in order for this to fall into their hands again....

this law also created the DEA........

come on... you can't be so difficult....
