Hi, this is my first indoor grow, 2* snow white and 1 church. They are being grown indoors under a 400w mh lamp. I think i'm having a bit of trouble because there doesn't seem to be a lot of growth happening. They are now over two weeks old but i don't appear to be making any progress! I think i may have made them stretch a little but the lamp is very close to the top of them now. I gave them a quarter strength fertilizer today hoping that something may happen, it's a soil grow, I think my ph's are ok, temps in my room are quite high 29-30 celcius, i am inclosing some pics any advice greatly appreciated, am i best of scrapping it and starting again?????? Cheers

Do you give them alot of water? You want to wait for the first few inches of top soil to dry out before watering again. Just saying that cause in the pic the soil looks wet.

Yer ive been watering when they need, to begin with just a light soaking with a sprayer, they look healthy enough, but just not enough growth for my liking!!

having the light too far away will slow growth

but now your light is way too close. a 400w mh light is HOT and you should keep it about 12"-16" away from those young seedlings, they cant handle that much heat & light intensity

also, giving fertilizer to a plant that young will not help the problem

if you just put a seed in the soil and thats what it looks like two weeks later then your doing alright. its best to move the light to the right height, dont over water and leave it for a few days, be patient!

also remember: if it looks like it needs watering, wait a another day to do it. chances are there's still moisture at the bottom of the pot

Thanks guys, for your replies. I certainly don't think its overwatering, and i was under the impression that once the first set of leaves were through (true leaves) then the lamp should be brought down. Also placing my hand on top of these seedlings there's no heat whatsoever from the lamp surely if it doesn't burn my hand it won't hurt the plant?

you're probably fine but you can get a cheap digi thermometer and be sure your between like 65 and 80 degrees (F). 90 degrees wouldn't burn your hand but is too hot for the little girls.
