A few questions about lighting.

Im starting my first indoor grow and i was getting some CFL from homedepot and a lot of them say soft white, bright white, or daylight. I was wondering if those mean the same as cool white and warm white? and how far away from the seedlings does the light need to be?

Also i was getting solo cups and was wondering how much to water each plant and how often and if i should put drainage holes in the cups?

i've looked all over this site for answers, but couldn't really find anything.

thanks

I can answer your question about the cups... Absolutely put holes in the bottoms for drainage... and stay away from the clear cups. I am using small styro cups with holes and things are going really well.

I've tried home depot and lowes and many others for the right CFLs. The best ones for the veg growth I've read is the 6500k (blue spectrum mimmicking MH) and the soft whites are around 2700k (warm for flowering mimmicking HPS). It usually says on the package, you just have to look on some of them. You can definitely find them online, just google 6500k or 2700k. YYou'll find them in a lot higher wattage too. I found some 6500k at walgreens.
As far as distance from the light, they need to be in a dome for a little bit then about 6-8 inches, when they're strong enough, about 4 inches, as long as there's a breeze.
Hope I helped and anyone else, PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong!
