i oppose docking tails and ears too.
if an adult decides to go out and have a purely cosmetic procedure done a ttheir own expense, thats fine, cut off as much of your dick as you feel you must.
to do this to a kid or pet is shameful.
There used to be a use for docking ears and tails, to prevent injury during hunts. Also, dogs with cropped ears can localize sound within a 5 degree cone, whereas dogs with uncropped ears can only localize sound within a 20 degree cone. If your dog is a search dog/guard dog/etc., it is still beneficial to have cropped ears for this specific reason. Most people just do it now because it 'looks cool', and because dogs like dobermans have long whip like tails that clear tables like a mother fucker... lol
Cropped ears are also less likely to get infected....
I agree with you on the dick chopping though. I'm 'eu natural' and my dick looks great. Plus the most sensitive part of my dick is still attached, so my orgasms will always feel better than someone who is uncircumcised. I think it's ridiculous that someone else makes that decision for you. It may not seem like much to people who don't have a foreskin, but how would you ever know what you're missing? You've essentially been robbed of the opportunity of experiencing what an orgasm is 'supposed to' feel like. That sucks for 80% of the population....
But, when that American gal goes, "EWWWWWWW. Rumpled Foreskin??? Can't touch that! "
That doesn't suck, at all, ever.

It's never happened to me. But I guess I just have a pretty dick.

Well, you seem to be omitting the Doberman Pincer and my dogs, Australian Shepherds. I am sure there are other examples in the working dog category. All the breeding in working dog, like all that giant ruff collar of Bloodhound, is strictly for a purpose, and was not easy. The ears and tails are breed into shapes across all breeds. For the workers, like Aussies, the tail is bred out, and any stubs are trimmed, for work in the brush. And as a companion dog, my side of it, it is good to have no big tails, in the house.
For Doberman, it was done for un-beliveable hearing and the ears were bred in shape to be cut for that. No tail and no ears allows no hand holds, for a police dog and is a safety upgrade for the dog.
Then they became pets, and some people don't raise the ears.
Some do. The dogs don't mind.
Which ornamental, mutilations are you thinking of?
Oh, what about neutering? That's mutilation.

debarking, declawing, tail and ear docking, etc etc etc.Which ornamental, mutilations are you thinking of?

unless your dog is running cattle, he needs his tall as a signalling device, stabilizer during the chase, and a convenient place to store extra feces between dumps.
just plain false
approcah a dog with some scissors and try to trim his ears into a shape you find more pleasing.
ill wait, let me know if he minds.
debarking, declawing, tail and ear docking, etc etc etc.
dogs are LIVESTOCK. preventing overbreeding is part of animal husbandry.
So, you missed the point altogether. And you don't shit about Dobermans, obviously.
I never thought I'd agree with the RIU Right Wing section but on the subject of animal welfare it seems I do.
In UK it is illegal to clip ears and dock tails.
Though a farmer once told me that tail docking helped prevent the dogs from getting them caught in machinery on the farm....???
I am also against selectively breeding dogs to create appearances that are pleasing to people.
Many of these breeds would NEVER survive natural selection.
The King Charles Spaniel is prone to a condition where it's skull is too small for its brain.
It causes the animal to have seizures and we know from a similar condition in people that this is one of the most acutely painful conditions there is.
But breeders still breed dogs with the condition because they want spaniels with small skulls - it helps to increase the look of big eyes.
Plain cruelty.
brachycephalic dogs are a perfect example of pathetic selective breeding and inbreedingI never thought I'd agree with the RIU Right Wing section but on the subject of animal welfare it seems I do.

Some of those badger dogs need their tails so you can pull them out of the hole. Had a Scotty that needed it.
I wish my rat terriers tails weren't docked. I didn't have a choice seeing as how I adopted both of them, but they need them. They are relentless in pursuit.
I think the theory on the ears, is that clipping them makes the ears more parabolic therefore increasing the sound waves that reach the ear canal.
