7 Most Valuable Strains? My friend moving to legal state wants to be an entrepeneur

Coming to Nevada would be futile, as the dispensaries only stock generic high times strains. Also bud is unfortunately going out the window as everyone wants concentrates and edibles. Plenty of bud tender/farmer jobs if you don't have a rap sheet.
I may be going that route if it pays well.
Seeds are the way to go and that's a big IF!

Yeah thats true. The veterans want concentrates and the kiddies want infused gummy bears and PRE-ROLLS!!! Pre-rolls are undoubtedly the worst possible option for getting any kind of quality....but when I asked several recreational shop owners, they all said that pre-rolls sell faster than anything! Many people are less-experienced....don't know how to roll a joint....

Dabbing concentrates is at the opposite end of the spectrum -the highest quality, cleanest stuff. But the "problem" is that, to noobs, dabbing looks too much like what crackheads do to get high -with all the rigs, nails and especially the torches.

Many people just want to be that occasional/weekend smoker who smokes a little to socialize at parties, etc. They look for convenience more than quality. The market understands this and is obviously going to cater to those people more than they are the super-connoisseurs. In fact, I think the real connoisseurs rarely purchase commercial cannabis. I think the real connoisseurs graduated to growing and processing their own, small-batch runs.

At $80-$150/gm for top shelf rosin, there aren't many people who can afford it. Especially since it's easy to press.

Did your friend grow a couple plants that turned out decent and is now considering himself a Master Cannabis Gardener and with the best strains he'll be the king?
If so it doesn't matter. Anyone can grow good weed.
Many people don't want the "Best" strain that will leave them dazed and confused. Some people want lower THC strains. Some people want high CBD strains. Some people want edibles.
Then there are the regulations and up front costs. Does your friend have sufficient funds? It's going to take a five figure amount minimum to even get started and have any chance of success. There are regulations, licensing fee's, etc. You can't just move to a legal state, start growing the "Best" weed, and have it sold through the dispensaries, and then just start counting the cash. The dispensaries have all the suppliers they need. This is now a business and the people involved are business savvy. They are not some closet grower that thinks they can grow good weed.
Tell your friend to start looking into the actual requirements of getting involved in the marijuana industry. It's not a game.

If Rackto doesn't already know what strains are fire and profitable, then it sounds like hes going to be the 5th wheel in the "mercado".

Rackto needs to get a normal job, grow weed in his spare time, and don't move to a legal state. Like they all^^^said, the money people gots things all tied up. Find a "trustworthy" front man a make your money where you are. Legal states suck for the little growers.

For those who are saying it sucks being a small grower in legal states are not 100% accurate. Yea in states like Colorado and Washington its probably not worth it, but there are a lot of states right now where weed is legal and shops aren't open yet. Therefore, people are legally allowed to purchase, carry and consume weed but don't have anywhere to buy it. Especially in areas like Washington DC small growers are making a killing at the moment by selling on apps like leafin and massroots. As long as its a quality strain they have all been selling like crazy there.

Well, rec is legal in mass, you can grow, possess and consume. BUT, nobody can legally sell yet. If you get busted in a sting you are still going down for felony distribution, and if you grew it, manufacture.

Just because it's legal to use doesn't mean its legal to either sell or buy. It's still black market. Don't kid yourself.

sorry I wasn't 100% sure on every state, I just know that Washington DC youre legally allowed to sell it, they just don't have shops open yet. I know most aren't like this, wasn't trying to cause confusion.

Colorado growers had a window of unregulated opportunity from late 2008 or so until July of 2010 when the State finally caught up to the medical dispensaries that had popped up. In that window we, as patients, could sell to the dispensaries....unregulated....with no watchdogs around. It was a double-edged sword though.....because the sales to the industry thwart sales on the streets and it wasn't long before the effects started to be felt on the backside. (Co went from 700 patients to 150K patients in just a few years) That's also when prices started to tumble......

Now.....ALL sales are all illegal here in CO unless you have a State license and a few million in your hands and are willing to Brokeback for the State. (no lube, all on camera). Prices have tanked on the street. You almost have to give it away at this time of year. All of the talk folks do on these boards when the topic comes up about "craft growers" and always retaining a market cus they have..you know...the BEST pot (LOFL)...is horseshit cus if there's no market/nobody looking and you can buy decent pot/hash/oil/etc just down the block...why chase down the guy who is playing dope dealer from his doublewide and enter into an ILLEGAL transaction? Whatever is EASIEST is what folks are gonna do. THAT is why the stores are there in the first place. It's too much time/energy/trouble for many folks to grow the plant. In the end.... to make sales work you have to know the peeps...and they have to be looking. These days...nobody is looking...except to unload what they grew.

But never say never. Somebody will make it...while many others won't. It just isn't a case these days...as it was in the old days...that if you GROW you'll get rewarded handsomely. Those days are long gone..... (and so are the 5K pounds)
