6oz per plant PLAN?

fully agree.
This was a room full of power kush after 3 years of growing.

Running a full hydro system

600w HPS independent air cooled lighting rig

Seperate fan and filter combo dedicated for only air cleaning.

Environment was almost in check (had to buy a dehumidifier after the grow to keep RH in check)

fed correctly, allowed to flower the right amount of time bud I did suffer some loss due to bud rot.

I pulled 12.33oz after 3 years of growing but my first run using hydroponics.

Now I pull more than this with a lot less equipment and a lot less of my time. Went from 600w down to 400w.

That looks insane! I should learn from you!

That grow wasn’t without its problems as I said I had bud rot due to elevated RH caused by a dripping ductwork system from cool air warm air colliding and causing condensation.

But now I’m very much a KISS grower.

I use DUTCH PRO HYDRO COCO GROW A and B. That’s it along with a well tuned growing environment.

Now I aim for 2-3oz a plant using my simple 400w setup and anything more is a bonus.

I aim for the same amount per plant regardless if I’m running 2 or 4 plants.

It’s just what my expectations are as a grower who’s been growing for 11years.

Wow that's amazing! So would you say it's best to stick to soil or educate my self with dwc hydro method and do that instead?

This simplest right now for your first grow I would suggest a simple soil that you feed with chemical nutrients.

It gives you the largest margin for errors this way.

Always half the recommended dosage stated in bottles directions.

It’s easier to correct an underfed plant than it is to correct an over fed plant.

Most soil will have enough nutrients in it for between 2-4 weeks of growth before any nutrients are required.

Remember when you pot up into a larger pot with new soil you get more nutrients again in the fresh soil.

Same here, I’m perfectly happy with 2-3oz per plant. People on forums will often talk about what is possible, but most people don’t realize those numbers require near perfection in the grow setup and the skills of the grower. @MrShabba23 , if you really want to see some realistic numbers then go to Growdiaries and check out a bunch of the harvested grows. You’ll see that only the high experience growers pull high yields. There are a few exceptions, but it’s rare.

Exhale Co2 bags are not effective. You do not need to supplement Co2.
I agree. I wasted money on them for my first couple of grows and fooled myself into thinking they made a difference. One may benefit a micro grow, in a sealed box, with intense light, but they don't do anything for a larger tent that is ventilated.

Soil is so easy once you have your mix right. I started growing in dwc/topfeed setup wanting a huge yield. I had no idea the effort it took to maintain the proper parameters. OMG so much to learn and time to maintain. I switched to organic soil after 7 years hydro and it's just so easy. I honestly barely noticed a yield difference and now I think I harvest as much as before too. Everyone likes what they like though so I'm not saying anyone should switch. Also, I had a blue dream cross yield 8 oz once doing nothing special as a grower, proving that any squirrel can get a nut sometimes. Good luck.

Nice man, similar set up to mine. Do you scrog? Your yield will go up considerably if you don’t currently
I’ve yielded 18 ozs from a single chemdawg (was a big bitch!) grown in dwc, scrogged under a 600w cool tubed hps, co2 supplemented also.
Vegged for 2 months!
But too many factors to tell op how long to veg for imo. If it’s not healthy, it won’t yield no matter how big she is.
Op won’t get 2 pounds from that single light on first real grow anyway, no matter what the veg time is lol.

Also, don’t let us get your hopes down. You are preparing properly, and are starting out with quality lights, so that is a great start. The only thing that’s “off” right now is your expectations but most new growers think they can yield way more than is normal when they first start growing.
I always under estimate now. That way harvest is a nice surprise every time

I literally just saw that. Sorry bout that. I was wondering cause I’m in my first auto grow now lol so I’m curious what to expect.
Don’t expect much but gaining knowledge to have a better next grow. And If you do get something from it then you’ll be a very happy person I’d imagine

I don’t even use that setup any more lol.

You missed the part where I said I now am a KISS Grower.

I only use a GROW FORMULA from start to finish and I use a 400w now.

SCROGs for me take too long. I pop my beans and grow them. Little training, great environment and feed daily in coco. Then reap the rewards.

It matters not to me about how much weight I pull as long as I achieve more than I need.

Based on the way my plants are coming, I’m going to be a very, very, happy person. I’m just curious what actual dry weight yield might be. Oh well, just gotta keep waiting a bit longer.

These are my plants (and buds) now, at the start of week 9 from seed. Sticky, sticky, sticky.

Lazy grows equals lazy harvests.
I also grow in coco and love it! I would agree with you on popping the beans and letting them grow if they were grown under the sun!

but not indoors under artificial lighting, especially with 6 to 7 weeks veg.... just a waste in my opinion.

Nice work!
I think you’re going to be pleased come harvest.
dont Need much plant training at all with smaller plants and bigger plant count to get a good quality, high yield.
Next run, try filling out your canopy a bit more with a bigger plant count or slightly longer veg with a bit of lst? Your yield will improve from this run and you’ll be getting more bang for your buck from your light/s

Thanks bro! I was hoping for 1/2-1oz per plant. That should be plenty for me to do another run and survive doomsday from the couch while I watch stoner comedies for the next several months while this covid stuff blows over.

Also, all of these plants actually have been LST’d since about week 3 (that’s why they’re so so short and bushy), add in that they are autos so I couldn’t let them veg longer even if I wanted.

That being said, I do know that I made a mistake when I fed bloom nutes at first sign of pistils and it swiftly moved them outta veg and into flower. Next time I’m gonna make them wait a bit longer before I up the P and K on em to maximize their vegetative growth. Should get a more robust set of plants that way with more potential bud sites.

Stay smokin’ man, and happy growing! And thanks for the feedback!

Not lazy in the slightest. Minimum effort for maximum satisfaction.

I’m not doing high production. I’m doing me.

I’ve done the whole over thinking thing. Buying all the fancy tools etc.

I use an EC truncheon and pH my feed solution.

I have Epsom salts and both mono Ca and Mono Mg supplements should I need them.

Just because I have better things to do with my time than spend hours in my garden tinkering, I’d rather be spending time with my wife and kids.
