and you might want to consider moving your ballast out of the room. not only does it help with heat problems (which you probably dont have any with that cool tube) but i heard it lengthens the life of it. look into it. im going to make a small stand to go over mine where the clones can go and hopefully root better.

the panda film was from local hydro store. can get it online as well.

unfortunatly the ballast has to stay in the room as i dont want anything outside of the room that dosent have to be. it has a 3 year warranty on it so if i get 3 years out of it i will feel like i got my moneys worth.

you are right about the ballast but his room is pretty aerated and i dont see any insulation, so his ballast probably runs cool enough. i actually have may ballast where my veg exhaust comes out(T5, no heat) so it cools the ballast off too

this ballast runs cool anyways it has a nice little fan and heatsink in it

little update.

just put 2 fruity chronic juice clones into the veg tent today, hoping some more stuff hurries up and roots so i can fill up that tent. need to have something big enough to put into my flower room in 2 weeks if i want to get my perpetual going. i doubt ill be harvesting as many plants as i intend to once things get in full blown opreation but i would like to at least be pulling something out every 2 weeks after my first harvest. im actually contemplating making 4 ScROG screens that span the length of my room for each batch to keep the canopies nice and even the only problem with that is i will have to train them into the screen on day 1 of flower and not too sure how that will work out. maybe ill give it a try on one plant and see how it fairs and if it works out well ill go full scale.

thanks man, i think im going to start a new thread on this grow. when i started this thread i out up a bunch o fpics of my shabby as outdoor grow.

That OG Kush looks pukka, hope i can get a plant half as good as this on my 1st attempt, will keep you all updated once germination has taken place.......

SO a little update.

i have 3 plants in the flower room and i think one may be a male oh well it was a bagseed so didnt really have my hopes too high.

my cloner is full hoping i have some roots forming by next weekend to get at least 5 more into the veg tent. 5 in the veg tent right now going through the reveg process (all i had to take clones from was a flowering plant)

will be cutting more clones next weekend and hope i can get 3 blue cheese and 3 fruity chronic juice which will make my 6 for perpetual. probabally try and cut 4 of each to ensure i get at least 3.

gave everything in the flower and veg rooms a full strenth feed with my general organics lineup. wont feed again for another 2 weeks probabally since i ammend the crap out of the soil and i probabally didnt really need to feed them this weekend but i wanted to maintain the soil biology, next weekend will probabally be jsut molasses water.

i ordered my 1000w digital dimmable ballast kit Link for kit it came in a week ago as most of you know and the MH bulb was broken so i called them up and they shipped me a new one no questions asked and my serialized warranty card. (BTW anyone out looking for a 1000w kit 260 bucks for the one i got 1 year warranty on all Apollo bulbs and 3 year warranty on Apollo ballast is a insanly cheap light with a top end warranty) the kit was pretty nice it had decent rope ratchet hangers instead of them stupid yo yo hangers. definatly will be ordering another 600w ballast in the future through Apollo horticulture.

the warranty card they sent came with a "free bulb promo" so all i had to do was go on amazon and write up a review,good or bad and then call them. they sent me a free 1000w HPS bulb so now ill have a spare and wont have to go down to a 600w bulb is anything happens.

also bought some of the stuff to make a small DWC unit goign to put next rooted clone in it and give it a whirl if the plants seem to go so much faster like everyone claims and it seems like something i can maintain i will start purchasing a few items here and there to eventually go full hydro, not really sure if i want to make this jump or not where soil is really forgiving and im kinda used to dealing with it change can sometimes lead to disaster but i am definatly going to be giving it a shot.

no pics right now but will update with some pics once i build my DWC unit and start getting some bud shots soon hopefully

Dwc works well for me...pretty simple way to get into hydro...I'm lovin it. Love to see ur take on it!

as soon as i get a rooted clone to work with ill be setting it up. do you just fill up the bucket to where the root is in the hydroton and then as the roots grow deeper allow the water level to go down more so its not so full?

I mean I jus put it right below the hydroton cause the air stone bubbles the sol'n up into the hydroton n the roots seek out the source. Keep it simple!

my order was dispatched on a Sunday....hmmm i guess i wont complain should be in the mail tomorow then and may even get here by end of the week (doubtfull though)

cant wait for them to get here will be popping 6 right away and then another 6 in 2 weeks. going to ditch the clone idea and just roll seeds from now on. i think seeds grow faster and take way less time than clones.

if you think about it. a clone takes roughly 2 weeks to develop roots, then another weeks to establish in the medium you plant it into. by the 4th week mark your looking at little to no growth at all and they are just starting to put on new growth.

with a seed in 4 weeks i can have a plant thats about ready for the flower room. yeah its a bit more pricy to order seeds but eventually i would like to try and make my own seeds. only problem is i love the idea of feminized seeds as i dont have the room to grow out males right now. another bonus to just ordering beans every month is i can switch up my strains and grow out some different flavors.

ill be heading over to feed the ladies today and take some more clones, will hopefully remember my camera and get some pics up. the 3 ladies i have in flower right now are just starting to get some visible buds on them but still going to be another week before any bud porn is available. today will mark week the begining of second week in flower.

practice growing you clones i flower in the 4th week, i usualy see growth after one week in the pot, after 1-2 weeks rooting i always aim for under a week but its usually a week and a half...( man i miss aero cloning.) but 4 week my clones are ready to go.

as far as seeds mine usually need like 5-6 weeks in a 24/0 veg before they show sex. and you really shouldn't flower before then. depending on the strain this could affect yield.

make you own fem. seeds, if you pop over to my journal i have a post about STS and you can make fem seeds for the cheap, you dont need males to breed but it does make things easier in some ways.

if i try making seeds ill probabally srtart out male/female breeding then go from there

Ok so i took some clones today (waiting on seeds, today was the 2 week mark since i took last batch of clones) had to so i was able to get 2 blue cheese and like 8 FCJ clones...wont use all if em but better safe than sorry. I am doing a little experiment, took one extra clone so left it in the cup of water and clonex...want to see if it roots and if it does how quickly.




heres the new hydro system, just a small DWC setup. Once i geta rooted clone ill be getting it up and going.
