576 watt lg-led solutions panel grow

I'm currently running a 576 watt led panel over my 5 girls. I've got an amherst sour diesel from seed, 2 bubba kush, and 2 flo all clones from a friend. So far for the price I'm very pleased with the light, and it has 2 switches for either veg, bloom, or both on for full spectrum. They're based out of china (like most shit available to us today) but they have a warehouse in new jersey so I didn't have to wait a month for it lol. You can check 'em out at www.topledgrowlight.com, my only issue so far is they do generate a little heat but nothing I couldn't fix with a little tweaking to my ventilation system. They come with a 3 year warranty provided I don't use it improperly. If anyone happens to check 'em out and decided to buy one just put in the "notes to seller" when it directs you to paypal that you were referred from rollitup.com (trying to talk them into giving a discount to riu members)

Got the ventilation system officially tweaked last night to counter the little bit of extra heat from the light. The ducting I had run before reached all the way to my window so I just covered the window with black and white mylar, put an extra duct flange I had laying around in it, and after about 5 hours of opening and closing the window at various points while watching the temp in the grow room I found the perfect spot to keep the window open at that kept the temp right where I want it but will only drop to 70 during the 6 hours everything's off at night. I plan on getting a 432 watt led panel from topledgrowlight.com for my veg space so I may have to do a little tweaking for that area as well, but I could be wrong.

How close do you have the light? Looks way too close, careful with that... You don't want bleaching

It's sitting at 20" above the girls, I've not really let it get any closer than that and they seem pretty happy with it at that point but I am thinking about dropping it an inch closer each week and find the ideal spot. I've definitely been keeping an eye on everything and the only issue I'm having at the moment is early signs of possible potassium deficiency, but I've already began addressing that issue.

Another issue I had was something was beginning to eat at my leaves but I solved that issue.

And here's the light at the right height, the previous picture was when I had just moved them into the new grow space and I hadn't adjusted the height yet

I have a Panel like that, even tho it don't have secondary lenses on em they seems to do just fine at 30-40cm (12-15 inch`s) my other panels with secondary lenses on em need to be 50cm (20") away or they bleach the Bud`s in the center and growth at the edges seem`s to do a bit better, so be careful, even tho LEDs run pretty cool they are strong and can`t be keeper close like small CFLs or tube`s, high power LEDs need to be used a bit like a HID (my stronger panel with secondary lenses on em give me a reading on my light meter as strong as my old 600W HPS at the same distance)

And me with my cheap light meter, measure my other LED panel with secondary lenses on em (the LG put out 30% less at that distance)

hell yeah, looks good man. I need to get a light meter but just haven't gotten around to it. I'm keeping track of everything so if something starts going south I can look back and see exactly what was changed to help figure out the issue. Thanks for the advice, no matter how many grows you may have under your belt there's always something new to learn. I've ran under florescent tubes until this grow, can't wait to see the outcome! If you know of anyone that wants to buy an LED panel from lg-led solutions tell them to put in the "notes to seller" that they were referred from rollitup, trying to talk them into giving discounts to RIU members but they want to see that the traffic is heading there first. The panels are already pretty cheap but who doesn't want to save more money lol

no need to, and if you really want one for LEDs you actually need one of the more expensive once that measure in Par light and Umol

just keep a eye on your plant`s and see if you can find that sweet spot (10-20") where they look happy

apogee makes a par / quantum meter sensor that can be used with a common multimeter 150$.

Yeah, it'll be a hot minute before I get one of those. I've still gotta get another light for my veg area, I'll probably be throwing the Amherst Sour Diesel into flowering a week or 2 before the 3 older clones and definitely be going in before the young flo

continuing to lst the girls, the Amherst Sour Diesel has a pretty nice even canopy with about 5 nodes sitting on top so I pulled them back to try and get some more penetration below the canopy and get some of those lower nodes to make an appearance

decided that instead of using name brand nutes I'm gonna go with just unsulphured molasses. Couldn't find any blackstrap molasses at the grocery stores where I live, but the unsulphured is still a good source of nitrogen, potassium, and magnesium along with others like calcium and iron. Definitely interested to see how it works out

:weed: nice plants.:)

Doing some more LSTing to the girls, they're filling up the pots pretty good now. Probably gonna get a 300 watt reflector panel from www.topledgrowlight.com within the next week to put in my veg room, gotta get ready to put the Amherst Sour Diesel into flowering in the next 3-4 weeks. If the 2 bubba kush clones and the older flo clone keep at their current pace I may be throwing them into flowering with the ASD, if it weren't for LSTing they'd be getting some height to 'em.

well now I'm split between getting an led reflector for my veg room or getting a t5 setup, I can get a 6 lamp t5 for about $116 shipped or the led for $144 shipped. It would only be used for vegging, I can't make up my mind but need to do so soon and money is a little tight so I'm beginning to lean towards the t5 but it's a hard decision. Any suggestions?

If your grow area is already fairly cool, the T5HO can be a good way to go. T5s are excellent for vegging. All the clubs use them here in Cali.

Some say it's best to stay LED the whole time through, but that might be a wife's tale.

I Veg under T5HOs and flower em under LEDs, no problem, as Gaius said, they are excellent for Veg, as a plant in Veg "only" need a 1/3 of the light it need in bloom to thrive and reach it potential, but he is also right on the heat factor, as T5s do put out a bit more heat the the LEDs (nothing special tho, temps might clime a degree or 3 more then with the LEDs) the T5 will also cover more space Im sure, but up to you, the LED will probably use less power and produce no heat/heat print but the T5 is also a good choice for veg

Hey Gaius and Slipon, just a question as have never used T5's for vegging. I've found (and like) the LED's great for vegging, one of the reasons is that the LED's seem to grow very tight nodes. How do you find the T5 node spacing? I noticed my son using some T5's for growing out some seeds recently and his node spacing seems quite a bit further apart but could be the strain he's growing...
