Get ready for the so called experts to jump on you any time soon and dismiss it :wall:.. Iam with you on this 100% because i have done both with & without darkness b4 harvest and definitely notice the extra frosty THC it creates on the buds with the 48 hour darkness.

What plant strain did you clone to test the with and without darkness theory?

I'd love to see your lab results between the two to compare.

my idea behind doing it, is that it puts the plant (s) under stress thinking they are fully dying and as a result protect themselves through a defence mechanism by coating herself with THC?

tried it but feel it's a waste of time. I do still chop at lights on just because people say so

To OP: It's my understanding the whole 48hrs darkness thing came from large scale commercial growers who would do so to cut down on their massive energy cost. Over multiple harvests throughout the year this can add up to a substantial sum of money.

For the rest of us, though, as one user commented, all you will be doing is saving yourself 1$ in energy bills.
