400w tent setup 1st ever grow!

Tent setup:
400w Cool tube, carbon filter, 2 6" inline fans and dwc system

Nutes:
Jungle juice M/B (Lucas formula), Big bud, Bud candy, Overdrive and Final phase

This is my 1st time growing but i have done tons of research and decided i'll go the hydro way but i have a few questions. Would i be able to grow 4 plants successfully in the dwc system to the right ?(picture below) Should i adjust the ph daily or weekly? How much should i expect to harvest off of 4 plants in this type of setup? Do they look healthy so far? Again this is my 1st grow so any suggestions or tips are welcome!

It's small for four plants depending on your veg time, but I have done four plants in a system like that and harvested just under 8oz. Since you have allready popped them beans go witrh it, but really this sytem can support two plants, five weeks of veg and 8 weeks flower and you should fill that bucket with roots.

I recommend you dump and refill your res every two weeks, no need to pH every day. pH and Nute up every fresh fill and I usually only top of with non-ph'd water (ph if you like).

Vey easy system to get a descent yield.

hydro for your first time? bold move! hope all goes well. monitor ph daily, keep your water temp 65 to 70 and dont overfeed. Looks like you got what you need to grow. When growing hydro remember the 30 percent rule. 30 percent more of everything like 30 percent faster growth,yeild,stretch,effort,etc etc. If you do it right youll get a huge yeild with four plants. Trust me tho on this, hydro plants will stretch 2 inches a night(under optimal conditions) during flower for up to 3 weeks! If I were you with four hydro plants id flower when they are 6 to 7 inches and theyll end up 3 to 3.5 feet tall(depending on strain) with HUGE colas and will fill your space perfectly.You could yeild up to 5 ounces a plant WITH OPTIMAL CONDITIONS! If you can hang that filter up high, lower your light and put that small white fan angled slightly upwards blowing directly on the light and have the filter in the top corner so the fans air hits the light and is immediately sucked out by the filter/fan, then put a small oscilating fan blowing on plants and your set bro! keep temps low, ph in check and youll be golden hope this helps out

  • Also should i start adding nutrients to the water now ? they've been given 5.5-6.0 ph level water for about a week now.​

Dont know if you can tell but my tent is 3x3x6 so shouldnt i be getting around a pound for four plants total ?

It will be tight with four, but it is doable; if you have allready germintared four go with them but I would personally only grow two plants.

No nutrients yet, what kind of medium are the seedlings in?

It will be hard to harvest a pound from that DWC bucket and a 400W, I would say shoot for about 200g - 300g for your first grow and then refine from there.

Good info indeed, but 5oz per plant in 1 DWC bucket under 400W is asking for alot IMHO

It will be hard to harvest a pound from that DWC bucket and a 400W, I would say shoot for about 200g - 300g for your first grow and then refine from there.


Good info indeed, but 5oz per plant in 1 DWC bucket under 400W is asking for alot IMHO

your prob right but under optimal conditions...hydro,co2,perfect temp/humidity,and that 400 watt cool tube 10 inches away? With scrog you could do it for sure! This dude had one plant,no co2, hydro, 400 watt light,less space,less plants and less equipment... but since he had less space, means he had more intense light. so mabye add some cfls for side lighting since youd need to keep the 400watt as close as possible.check it out its pretty badass! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4FAqd8-Xmw

Right now i just have 2 germinated seeds in soaked rockwool in a ice tray.. do you think they will sprout or should i have put them in a humidity dome for a couple of days before i put them under light ?

All I know is your set up is sreaming VERT Something like use a scrog screen aroung 6" from
the pot. Grow each lady to the the corners keeping all growth under the net for the first 6-7".

Trim most growth from the center little by little. Once your ladys are around 14''-16" switch to vert
Set up the light vertical add a vertical net between the light and the ladys. (Chicken wire)
and watch that room fill with dankness...

You think i should turn the whole light vertical ? or should i just add some hanging cfls on the sides ?

I would hang it but its to heavy to have that and the light hanging. do you think i should keep the carbon filter on the ground in the corner or put something underneath it to raise it up a little ?

They will be fine and should sprout fine, I use a very simple method and have had 100% seed germination from numerous seed breeders even the notorious GHS.

1. put seeds in room temp tap water for 24 - 48 hours
2. seeds in between moist paper towel on a plate, depending on the season I usually have a fan heater on pointed away from the seeds but the room is quite warm
3. once seed pops and taproot is visible transfer to room temp plain tap water soaked rockwool cubes.
4. place under light until lady emerges.
5. place in net pot with photo rocks, begin veg.

I used this same exact method they've been in the rockwool for day and so far one popped but the root is kinda red is something wrong or is that natural?
