One other possibility is that the big buds that crumble upon touching after 4 days do so because of botrytis.
There's no world where the large buds will dry faster than the small buds.
The crumbling after four days, if accurate, is troublesome.
One reason the bigger buds may have dried faster on the outside than the smaller nugs may have something to do with the bigger buds have no sugar leaves or fan leaves attached to them. The smaller nugs have all of leaves still attachedThat sums it up nicely
