31.3ft x 12.5ft Grow room design setup

Hey guys,

I'm hoping to get some advice and direction from some experienced growers on my room design and setup.

The space I have to work with is 31.3ft x 12.5ft with 9ft ceilings.

All the walls have been fully insulated and the space has been broken into two rooms as seen in the diagram.

Ideally this would be setup for a perpetual type harvest.

The only items that have been purchased so far are:

2x - 5x15ft rolling table
6x - Kingbrite 800W LM301H Full Spectrum LED
1x - Kaden 3800w split system ac

So pretty much everything else is open for discussion, looking for advice about where you suggest I go from here.
Many thanks :)

I was thinking drip irrigation, my only fresh water source is rain water. I currently have a full 5000lt rain water tank installed outside the grow space.

I think I have decided on 9 plants per light which would be 27 plants per 5x15ft table for a total of 54 plants in the flower room.
Do you think this would work ok? How many mother plants would be needed to support this?
Thanks guys

It depends on your number of clones. You could run a monocrop with as little as one or two moms. Make sure you have room to get to both sides of the trays and expect to learn a lot of lessons before you’re pulling big numbers. Do you have a plan for IPM?

Personally I would run four plants per light to make everything more manageable, but with good training and lollipopping nine could be better.

I like the simplicity of 4 per light also, I'm just concerned about the extra veg time that would then be required.
I don't have a plan for IPM yet, but it will be a sealed room.

It sounds like you should have started out a little smaller, maybe with a 4x8 or 5x10 tent for flower and a 4x4 for veg. It’s much more to growing then putting plants under lights and watering them. Then upgrade when you know what you’re doing. Otherwise you are throwing money away.

Honestly i completely agree it took my brother over 4 years before he learned how to grow the dank budz lmfao no lie for the first 4 years he grew with hps lights fox farms ferts and soil and all his bud was garbage lmfao but hey i hope this guy buys a boat load of led lights and grows pounds and pounds of mids lmfao

Hi guys,
Thanks for the input so far. I should clarify a little, I do have many years growing experience, mostly with RDWC systems.... just not to this scale.
Regarding the rain water, yes we have a high average yearly rainfall where I am.... rain filled this 5000Lt (1300Gal) tank up in less than a month.
I also have the option to pump from the main 30,000Lt tank when needed.
As mentioned, the flower room has a split system ac already installed... can anyone suggest an appropriately sized dehumidifier for this sized room? My guess would be something capable of removing between 90-100Lt (200+ pints) of water per day?
Many thanks once again.

check out the floraflex stuff, I would drip irrigate, rock wool blocks n slabs on trays, with a condensate type pump to handle runoff on each tray back to a central reservoir.

edit
id stick to one strain or even one cut if possible

Thanks Blue brother, ill look into the floraflex line. It will either be rockwool or coco.
At the moment I have selected two clones from one strain that could be potential mothers...also trying to figure out how much room/what sized tent I'm going to need to setup in the smaller room to veg the 60 or so plants before they get transferred..... and the irrigation system for these.
I was thinking maybe flood and drain for the simplicity to save me having to plumb another 50-60 individual plant site irrigation system...

Flood and drain would certainly make things easier for you in almost every way, I’d always choose rock wool over coco just cause it’s truly inert, I also get along well with the block n slab stacking system so maybe I’m abit bias. I usually follow the rule 1/3 of flowering area for clones and veg but that depends on ur chosen cultivars stretch.

edit. I’ve also transferred plants vegged in f and d into a flowering room drip system with no apparent problems. Mine were vegged in 6” rW blocks in flood system then placed on top of slabs in drip system, I would usually give them a week on top of the slab before switching the lighting cycle just to get some roots down

Ok thanks. Yes that type of rockwool setup with slabs seems to be pretty popular in commercial setups.
I know there must be a reason for it, but what is the main benefit to drip irrigating the cubes on slabs as opposed to just flood and drain?
