Hook one of these bad boys up your lighting fixture http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=48436 (they come in 4,6, and 8 inch varieties). That will assist greatly in preventing heat build up in your fixture. I'd hook it up on the side of the fixture away from your inline fan.

You have too many bends in your venting system. That really lowers it's efficiency more that you'd think. You want air to move in a straight line for maximum efficiency.

For my flowering room I plan on having one fan that pulls air through a carbon filter and another in line fan that pulls air through my lighting system. Then additional third fan to pull fresh outdoor air into the room.

My vegging room will only have an intake fan and a inline fan to suck the hot air out of my lights.

seedless, take another close look at the first picture. The air is pushed through the hood going up and up out of the room.

Ronjon, i think ill try that. maybe mount a 90deg elbow to the other end of the hood, and attach the duct booster to it.

I was hoping with such a small room, and such a powerful fan, I would be alright :(

I have a room a little bit bigger then yours. Im using a 600cfm in-line duct fan on the exhaust end, a 24"x14" intake pulling air from under my house, and no carbon filter on the system. I was getting temps in the low 90s, so i adapted my light cycles around the hottest part of the day. I'm sitting between 72 and 85 right now. Im looking into an air conditioner for my room.

i think he should get rid of those bends in his ducting..and make sure the hot air goes OUT the room via ducting, running your lights at night help alot too...take the ballest out of the room too..leave the door open if u can when the light are on...all these lil thing will help alot...i got a 4x4 room with a 1000 watt from 100F to 83F with just these lil tricks..you have too keep trying diffenrent set ups unless you have $$$ to buy and run all those fans and a/c..also what kind of light do u have in there??.....MEANGREEN.

I only have a 400w in there, and I do leave the door open when I can. BUt its when guests are over for extended periods that I need to keep the door closed.

I guess im just not really sure how to position my fan and ducting so there arnt that many bends in there because the room itself is so small. I only have 3 bends in there, and just the location of the exhaust requires me to have atleast 2 bends. If anyone else has any ideas on how to position the ducting and light, im open.

seedless, what size is your room? I thought a 6 in 300cfm fan would be plenty for my rooms size. What do you think I need? I dont really want to go past 6 inches, and the silent operation of the fan is a MUST as this is located in a central area of the house.

I think I might try adapting the light cycle to at night, but how would i do that with already flowering plants? And I love going into the room to check on things. Also at night if theres a heat problem, I wouldnt be able to keep the door open to mitigate it either.

My room is 5x6x8, and i have a 400w hps without a free air flowing hood.my venting has 1 bend, and an air filter (24x14 inches) right at the floor with no restrictions, pulling cool air from under my house.I have a 600cfm duct fan pulling air through my system(no carbon filter) hooked up to an "inline voltage cooling thermostat" so it only comes on where temps get above 75F, so it runs all day and turns off sometimes at night when the temps outside are better. My temps are under control somewhat. So you should hook that carbon filter straight up to one end of the hood, and put the fan straight to the other side of the hood closest to the door, and run some ducting up to that air vent above the door. Look into a portable A/C and you shoud be fine.

Dude, you gotta suck air through the hood instead of pushing it... And exhaust it out of the room. That will help cool you down.

If your just sucking hot air out yu need an intake fan bringing cool air in if not using co2. You need another 300 cfm fan sucking cool air from the house into the grow area then the other sucks the hot air out. The outtake fan up high as hot air rises and the intake fan down low so the heavy cold air is sucked in and the fan up high will draw cool air up as the hot air leaves making the room air temps drop
