That's so awesome. I would love to take a 3400/8000(watts)=x/16-17lb yield. That would put me somewhere in the range of 6.8 to 7.225lbs. Shit, I would be grateful for four, thrilled with five (one pound per tray), anything above that I would be dancing on air.

That garden PRODUCED. I don't know what it was, but it was dialed the eff in. I banged off a bunch of crops with that one. Back then, because of the paranoia, I didn't take pics. One friend (absolute best buddy whom I trust without quesion) took a few pics. I got sketchy and made him delete them.

Let's just say, I pretty much own everything I possess from electronics, to gold, to two cars. Never got enough to get a house of my own. I work a real job on that quest now, and keep the room small to supply my own needs.

PS......that Sour Diesel looks friggin evil man...........like it has horns...........awesome !!

I love this journal. Props to you !

Wow, dude. I'm pretty blown away by your journal. Looking at your dry room construction, again, I think YOU should be the one giving advice, buddy. Everything looks clean, top-notch, and serious.

Edit:
I'm not as good at wording the scientific processes as dsmoke1, but letting that last bit of moisture still lingering at the core after initial dry seep slowly through the buds while in jars will ensure that that final drying process of the buds slows down drastically. That moisture kind of hanging around in your buds (breathing air only when you burp once a day) will not only make sure the psychoactive properties develop potency as the sugars ferment, but your bud will keep for a very long time and won't dry out completely even after months. If you still have any stock left that's been curing in jars for over a month, that is your prime
Thanks a lot man. It's sort of always been our motto to never do anything half assed. Construction was the easy part since the drying process is "where you separate the men from the boys." There are a lot of people growing ditch weed, and we sort of refuse to be part of the problem. Also, for personal smoke I will definitely jar for a month or more (if more equals better??). For the rest of it, I am still unsure of how long I will cure.

Thank you very much. I figure after this grow is done and I have less questions, I will be frequenting other people's journals a lot more and be able to put in my two cents. This fall, the roommate and I are planning to take Horticulture classes in order to better understand the science of growing. So hopefully our future projects will be testing new ways to grow.

What size room were you growing in and how much ceiling height did you have in that bad boy? We're not so paranoid about everything because outside our room we have the doctors recommendation to grow our 15 plants. We could have gone to 30 with two MMJ cards, but we decided the first grow we would go much smaller.

One of our really good friends is an outdoor grower in Cali and he is super paranoid about everything, but has given us a lot of really good information. There are not a lot of people that actually know what we're doing inside our house, in fact we have had people come stay the night that don't even notice one of our rooms is growing plants. You would walk into our place and never suspect a thing. Plus, we have a motion sensor alarm that goes off in our room every time someone drives up our street. The stupid deer set it off constantly, but that's another story. Lastly, one of us is a former Army Sniper, so that keeps the thieves at bay.

Oh and we have been trying to get a good picture of that Sour Diesel for a long time now, so I am glad you enjoyed it's pure evilness.

Day 55 of flowering
This morning while doing my daily inspection of the plants I noticed some odd growths on the Lemon Drop's (which happens to be 7/15ths of my plants). I saw little yellow banana clusters forming that I hadn't seen before. I cut some off tonight and this is what I saw.
It sure looks like pollen, but I think I caught them young.

I believe I should be taking them down tonight although they still look very immature. Uggghhhh....anybody have any suggestions?

Holy shit! What the hell is that? It looks like an Anaheim pepper!

Quarantine! Destroy! Burn!

edit:
duder, you got at least the start of ambers... I see a few there. Cut NOW!

Well, maybe just one, but you got a good number of cloudy and I can see some that are starting to turn brown in addition to the obvious amber one. You'd be cutting early, but it's not that bad... And you don't want to risk the remainder of your grow. That's my opinion. Listen to me (or not) at your own risk... of course. Lol.

Edit again:
Slap up a semi-closeup of a top nug this chili pepper came from. I'll tell you if you can cut them now reasonably.

Haha, ya the pollen sacs don't look like they've opened yet, but are still taking all seven of those POS Lemon Drops out of that room. They have been our least favorite plants from the beginning, and now they are seeking retribution for the lack of love.

OH, unrelated, but regarding curing?

You know what they say aging does for fine wine and cheeses? Shit, it's nothing compared to what it does for cannabis. Check this, I found a Blackberry Kush nug, a throw away nug, fluff, just sitting in a box in darkness for over five months. The key thing here is that it was kept in a dark enclosure... It was the box my keif shaker came in (a small cardboard shoe box type). Well after shaking some keif off my Blackberry (some of the best kief, but not great bud), I must have just kicked that little nug in there and forgotten about it. Well I found it the other day and decided to light it up. I didn't think it would do much, but this weed that wasn't that good a few weeks after harvest (and this was a piece of fluff junk far from a top bud) provided a strong counterpoint to the Diablo I'm smoking now and totally changed the high. It wasn't nearly this good back then.

I also just found crystal leaf shavings from the Platinum OG from my last grow as well. Also sitting around for months. This five-month old leaf shake has become great sprinkle for my bowls. It's almost as good as great keif. I can totally feel the Platinum from my last grow interacting with the Diablo. Accidental curing (even of leaf shake) results in potent shit.

Edit: As far as curing goes, it would be great if you could stash some of your shit and just forget about it. Impossible, I know. But if I had like a half ounce jar of that so-so Blackberry kush I forgot about and found say tomorrow, I have no doubt that it would be better than the Diablo right now. NOw if I could only 'forget' about a jar of my Diablo for six months... I would have to register that as a lethal weapon...

Edit Again:
Here's a fun game. I'm just gonna get as high as i possibly can in the next few weeks and stash small jars of my Diablo away in odd places. I just might forget about one of them.

Anyone want to take a guess at how much this AK-47 will weigh once it is dried?
I'll take that guess. Those buds look awesome... reminds me of mine...but even fatter and perhaps denser. That one will weigh more than three quarters of an ounce dry at least. If it weighs an ounce or more dry, I'll buy you a burger and a beer.

As a reference for you, this here bud weighed in at .89 oz dry. Your bud looks bigger.

Geeze, jin, that looks excellent. The hammer wasn't a great reference size since hammers come in all different sizes. Anyway, here she is with a piece of paper.

And btw, I am going to collect on that free burger beer combo if it's over an ounce. I will drive to wherever you are.

As I thought, your buds are bigger. You're gonna see some shrinkage, but it'll prolly still cover more of that paper than mine dry. Put it back on the notebook paper and photograph those same clippers next to it when the bud is dry for a head to head comparison later.

Will do... This was one of the last one's we cut. We thought we had some impressive ones before this one, but after this, they all look like shit. haha

Haha!! That is one impressive cola! I say 25 grams - just under an oz. More harvest pics!!! bongsmilie
I plan on making a big update with new pics and the story behind it all. I'm just sort of exhausted after four days of trimming. We had to throw a trimming party and invited all the people we trust. We had a pretty good turnout and managed seven plants in the last day which was awesome.

Alright, things went haywire the last few days and we felt we needed to take down all the plants sooner than we anticipated. We found the little pollen sacks on all seven of our Lemon Drops, so we felt it was best to get them out of there as fast as possible. We didn't want to risk any of the other plants, so we took them down over the next few days. The other plants all seemed like they were ready to come out, so we feel good about those.

Tuesday Night
We recruited a friend out to help us around 9pm. We finished the first two LD's by 4am. Both of us had a Marine Bio lab at 9am Wednesday morning and we made it, although barely.

Wednesday
This was an odd day since we completed two plants in like six hours and decided we wanted more dry space. We called it a day fairly early because a project was looming the next day.

Thursday
We woke up and hit up Home Depot by 6:30am to buy stuff for the new dry room. Had that completed by around noon and spent the rest of the day trimming. That day we trimmed up four plants with help from a few extra people. (8 down 7 to go)

Friday
This was the day of all days. In the morning we went and bought Papa Murphy's pizza, a half gallon of vodka, 30 case of beer, and extra sheers. Throughout the day we had as many as seven people working and getting drunk. It was amazing and we finished the rest of the plants. If any our friends actually knew about this forum, I would like to thank them all. Especially the guy who is our best mutual friend. He was here every step of the way and to make things worse, he doesn't drink or smoke anymore. He trimmed for countless hours sober as a nun.

Saturday
Woke up really early and spent about six hours getting the house back in working condition. We had someone coming up to stay the weekend that doesn't know what we're doing, and we don't want him to know. He stayed Saturday and Sunday and didn't notice a thing. Carbon filters are the SHIT!!!

Anyway, here are a couple pics of them drying. Sorry for the quality, but the camera was having a hard time focusing.

Looks like some top quality smoke man. Good job. Keep up the good work! Do think you'll just not run the lemon drop again?
It's hard to say because the LD's are super tasty. They were a pain in the ass to trim on top of herming, but we're still waiting for the overall yield results. I'm really not sure why they started herming unless maybe it was a genetic thing?? Luckily we didn't find any seeds in the entire trim process, so we think we got to them in time. We've tasted them all so far (miscuts), and the Cheese's seem like the most potent. Next time we might just go with Sour Diesel's and Cheese's. It has yet to be decided. Also, we have five outdoor plants that just started flowering that have been offered to us, so we might just throw those in the room to finish for the next month and a half.
