Right, i haven't a clue how my plants are doing, but this post isn't about them.
Whipped up the following on a 3D modeling app on my ipad, so its pretty basic and rough, wasn't too sure how to render each face for more realistic colours but i'm sure i'll get my idea across to anyone reading this.
The idea here is to have the pots raised up off the floor and hanging by their lips (top edge). The contraption the pots will be hanging off will be on rollers, the type you get on office desks and some drawers to allow them to slide out and back in, so i will be able to quickly and easily slide both plants out of the cupboard in one quick and easy pull, no lifting. The plants wont be able to move back and forth due to the "rails" of wood the lips of the pot will be sitting on, but they will be able to move left and right along the rails if a little space needs to be created incase one plant decides it needs more room than the other. This weekend i will transplant both plants into 11litre square pots and probably switch to flowering on sunday. Such a design does mean i will lose some height, but that's not something i'm too worried about with this grow, as long as they dont grow another foot this week or anything.
The pots will be high enough to allow me to place some sort of bucket or bowl underneath them once pulled out to catch run off when flushing. This will mean i won't have to untie anything (training), remove any drippers, or carry the plants round my house to my bathroom.
As this shall all be made up of wood, if any training sticks are needed to hold up branches or keep buds separated or anything like that, holes can be drilled in the the sliding surface the pots will be sitting on in which these sticks can go into. Means i dont have to disturb the soil/roots... if you get me.
Lastly if one pot needs to be raised like it is at the moment, wooden blocks can be added between the lips of the pot and the rails, so that shouldn't be an issue.
