240 Watts All White LED Grow Northern Lights

This is the SPD of the 3000k Osrams I use presently:

This is what I'm trying to replace in my flowering tent. What would be the advantage of using white LEDs in that case?

I guess it depends on which fixture and what HOT5 bulbs you buy

My 8 bulb Quantum Bad Boy was ~ $350 + Quantum bulbs were ~$8, and I bought 8 of each 54w bulbs, plus shipping ~ $50. The aquarium bulbs run $20-25 + shipping/tax, which is more expensive due to insuring to cover breakage.

LED Bulb Cost $35 for a 23w LED tube a bulb is a $$$ wash, but will last 5+ years while drawing half the power. 23w v 54w doesn't seem like a fair fight, but, I also run an LED tent. Last grow I used ~70w of HHGs (NW, WW)+ my UFO 90. The combo did a comparable job with one plant. I think 200 led watts will equal the 432w, at least close enough.

Right now have 2 clones near finished under 324w and 2 younger clones under 58w HHGs + 4 x 4 ft tubes @ 23w = ~ 150 led watts.

Why change? I am ridding my home of fluorescent lighting due to the toxicity of mercury- I've had a few bulbs break inside

Also had 2 separate light fixture crashes due to poor materials used to make fixture hanging hooks. HOT5s would have smashed in a 2 x4 area, a potential hazard + all the broken glass

Fixture: 2 bulb T8 shop lights @ $18, which have to be rewired. Pretty easy

I do expect someone to market a LED fixture before long

Hey guys, some things came up out of no where and I had to get rid of my plants. I have been gone due to certain hospital visits, aka I totaled my motorcycle last week and was in the hospital 10 days due to a concussion. I have not a scratch on my body. I planted some G 13 today along with laughing buddha to get this started again. This time it will come quicker, I plan on finishing around october and just so everyone knows i would have gotten quite a few ounces if I could have kept it all. That mistake will not be made again. I had one cola that was literally bigger then my whole arm. Im looking to see if I have any pics left of it.

Glad you're OK. I hate hearing about m'cycle accidents as I too own one, though I don't ride much. Mostly mornings then back in the garage.

I live in an area that has > 4M people (many re too old to rive, but do. They are on meds + all the people on non presc meds + alcohol...) in a ~ 100 mile long area on the east coast; Everglades on one side, so the ride is always the same.

My bike's an 800 pound beast for cruising, not mountain carving, so it gets boring after 16 years

Have a speedy recovery man. Must have been a nasty concussion for 10 days in the hospital. Take care of yourself and the new arrivals. :)

I was okay, thanks for all the concerns, it means a lot. they were just running tests because i passed out at the hospital and went in and out of consciousness so they thought i was resisting them because apparently when i was unconscious I was fighting them and it took 10 guys to hold me down. lol So they wanted to make sure I was "safe" to put back into the public. Some nonsense.

Anyways, I am moving friday and couldn't be happier. I currently have 8 beans sprouted about 2 days and will put pics up once I have everything set up this weekend. 4 G 13 and 4 laughing buddha.

My babies are about 1 month in, once they truly start flowering I will put up pics and I have decided this will be solely LED so we will test the lights.

As far as last LED side of the grow, it exceeded my expectations dramatically. Had one bud the size of my forearm

Here is my current grow. A small, SOG style grow with 6 plants. I am currently in the process of throwing a few more under there as well to make some 12/12 from seed. So far this was done conclusively with LED but I am switching over to MH now.
