240 Watts All White LED Grow Northern Lights

Well the HPS has had some advantages, it is about 3 weeks behind in flower so it had a longer veg time so the best way to measure right now definitely is not by the size of the plant but by the size of the colas and that is not possible with it being 3 weeks behind right now.

The hps ones look more stretched between nodes too. The led ones will most likely fill out better imo. I do NL too so I know how it laggs in the beginning and chunks up most in last couple weeks.. The led ones look happier and very frosty. We all know 2 of the same clones can grow at different rates under the same light.

honestly I didn't know that, why is that? I've never grown from a clone only seed, but I may try it soon idk

Its the roots. Some clones grow thicker and more roots than others. Once in awhile a cutting or 2 never root or take a week longer than others. You don't keep those ones.

Looking good, LEDs have come a long way in the last 3-4 years, only a matter of time before they are advanced enough to replace hps, subbed!

Yeah must admit following this thread that LED's have upped their game a bit in the last couple of years, very interesting thread.

Attempting more pictures tonight, although they are hard to get with all the plant material. the colas are really starting to form into large branches, they are still just filling out with bud sites so I still estimate atleast another month or 5-6 weeks till fully finished.

It was hard to get shots, but what i see is that each cola is literally doubling in size and branching larger with budsites on each, this may be due to the fact that i chopped the main stalk head a few weeks ago bc it was getting too tall. It may have taken it as a topping.

Just to show you guys a little better picture of how the LED is coming along, i'd say this is about 4-5 weeks flowering. I took a branch off for some personal meds to test it out. So far so good.

Subbed up. My next LED is going to be very close to yours with whites and warms.

beginning to look other worldly trueg, that last pic looks like a branch got a bit heavy and started out sideways, looks like the leaves have aligned themselves to compensate, actually if I never knew what strain you were growing and was asked to have a guess I would have said Northern Lights, that fluffy bud like a burst mattress of white pistil hairs. I grew NL under a 250W as my first grow about 10 years ago and it looked exactly like that, its got a good bit to swell and fatten out yet wd

Yup, still plenty of time to go! and that just so happens to be a branch that i accidentally supercropped by breaking it and it turned out rather well from it!

They appear to just now be finishing their cola formation and seem to be late finishers so they may go a month longer then expected.

I've seen all white led on strawberries and tomatoes.

The white sure looks good. I'd be interested to see a white led vs the more normal red based lights

4x 2700k, 4x 6000k and 4x 6500k


Gave those type of buds .....

Resinous -Pungent Smell/Aroma (I'm sure about it ..) ..
But somewhat elongated and not "full" - "thick " ...

My opininon is that your led white light contains extreme levels of Blue & green wavelengths ,thus

"maintaining " vegetative procedures while during flowering ...

Flowering will take longer ,with new bud sites (flowers ) being constantly made .
But flowers do not proceed into maturing ( Swelling ) ....

So elongated and 'spindly' bud formation occurs ...

In case you want to remain to pure white led without adding any reds whatsoever, then I can advice you that :

Keep and increase the 2700 K ones .Aim for High CRI warm whites ....
Take out all the 6000-6500 K leds and replace them with some Neutral whites 4000-5000 K ...Some ...
'Incline " your spectrum towards Amber-red-Deep red light and not towards blue / green ..
That 's in order to improve yields ...
Or ......
If you aim for a high quality bud and do not care about yield quantity ,leave it as is ....
You gonna love those buds ,when dried and smoked ..
Trust me on that one ...

These arent anywhere near finished though. Thats why I am making absolutely no assumptions until flowering is finished.

That budsite was off a plant thats only been flowering for about 4 weeks.

I do not like either ,to jump into conclusions ...
Just stated what few other and me ,have been noticing using more or less ,same configurations ,
regarding blue/green wls ...
