This sounds like an awesome idea, i think im going to try it out. how many plants do you usually use is a scrog grow? Is there a certain number per square ft or just however many i can fit in the area? Lol i live in so cal and am also getting ready this early, just too impatient haha

Yeah I feel you. I'm up here in the Bay Area and I can't wait either. I try to go out for a little bit everyday and do something in preparation for this Spring :) My girl and I got a house this last Fall and I've been dying to get out there. I've been growing indoors for 5 years, and it's finally time to bust out my skills under the sun. To answer your question... There's not a certain number of plants to do per sq. ft. or anything like that. I'm not sure how high the start of your roof is, but says if it's 10ft tall from ground to the start of the roof, put up 4 large fence posts(possibly digging a hole to cement the posts the posts in place - optional) in each corner, and stretch a heavy duty nylon netting or possibly chain link fencing. Just as long as it's strong enough to hold up some weight from cola's in late summer. The actual SCROG (netting of your choice) could be around 5ft high, that way you could train all the shoots to SCROG at that point, then Lollipop(prune - cut off all of the undergrowth of the plants once trained into the SCROG) the plants and watch yourself have a 10ft/10ft Screen of Green(literally) Haha.

What have your temp's been like while your germinating? It's been cold here and I'm about to start popping some seeds after the 30th(ish) when I harvest my Cannatonic grow. I'm thinking of getting a seed/clone heat mat to improve my germination rate haha cause I've only grown with clones from the dispensary before. I went to Dollar Tree a few days ago and they're already prepping their shelves with Spring stuff and I literally stocked up on about 10 bags of seedling starter mix(similar to Coco) and tons of small & medium sized plastic pots. Spent about $40 and the selection will only get better over the next couple months.

Attention:
Look out for steals and deals at your local Dollar Tree, now and over the next couple months because they are a seasonal company and get stocked up with plastic pots, vegetable seeds, seed starter mixes, seedling trays & domes, potting soil(sometimes).... Etc.

haha nice, im the opposite, well this is my first real grow but i have a guy helping me who has always done outdoor, but i really want to try some indoor. Outdoor is nicer because you dont have to pay for lights and can grow them huge, but i like being able to have a crop every 2 or 3 months, or even weeks if you have multiple areas going. i really want to try and find some autos that will do well outside in the winter months so i can try and have a crop all year round outside, but with how cold its been lately i dont know how i would do it lol. man a SCROG that size would be awesome. The only thingis with an area that big how would you get to the middle of the netting or chain fence to tie down the shoots and stuff?

its been really cold outside here, its dropped below 30 F a couple times at night in the 23-27 f range. Luckily my room stays pretty warm though, i have a decent gaming rig that pumps out heat and keeps my room a decent 75 f all the time usually. It may drop to 60f a couple times but not usually. I just had a regular drop light, (those reg bulbs with the aluminum reflector attached to them) pointing at the ziplock bag with my seeds in the papertowel in them,(around 6" away) and out of 50 or so seeds they all germinated but 12 if i remember right. Which isnt too bad considering they were all bag seeds and at least 2 or 3 years old. i wanted to run a heater but i only have a 30 amp breaker running the duplex im in so i cant do a heater and the lights, it pulls too much and makes my lights flicker >_<

Nice thanks for the heads up on that, im def gonna go check dollar tree tomorrow for some buckets since i barely have any atm and since i have these seedlings on 24/0, ill prob be needing to transplant them soon lol, already starting to grow their second set of leaves and its only day 7 since they sprouted

You don't have to necessarily have to fill in that whole fenced in area solid with plants... There could be a few feet of room between each of them so you'd still be able to get to each one and take care of your responsibilities. But yeah for sure it's been cold up here too, that's why I asked. I just went outside right now(7:30AM) and mostly everything has frost on it.

Dollar tree surprised me though with the little gardening section it had out on the shelves already. The smaller of the 2 pots I got come in packs of 12 for $1, and the mediums are 6 for $1. Also.... If you wanted to do any vegetables... They have vegetable seeds for 25 cents each.. originally marked for $1.99. So yeah, pretty good deals.

I'm subscribed. Can't wait to start seeing why you're gonna do with your outdoor area. Don't be a stranger and keep the updates coming

It'd be awesome to show everyone pics of the huge $40 haul(literally 6 bags of stuff) from Dollar Tree, but I'm on my phone sadly and can't upload any from here..... or can I now with an iPhone? Hmm..

I redid my lights today, got tired of having to put a brick or 4x4 under every cup to raise them closer to the light, so i added another 2 bulb, so i have 6 bulbs total now and i hung them from my ceiling on a chain so its easy to move it up or down when needed. There are about 9 that are a little behind the others tall wise so i still have to have them on bricks, but once they catch up a bit i should be able to take that away also. here are some pics for shits and gigs

(sorry for the crappy pics, the floros are to blame)

I wish!

It may be a little late for you now seeing how you already have them in party cups.... but their sizes are about 3" for the small ones, and about 6" on the medium ones. A buddy of mine is giving me his "super stash" of seeds soon and I wanted to be ready for all the seeds to have their own small containers to start in before I transplant them to bigger pots. I might germinate a handful but will only keep 12 monster strong females for my outdoor this year. I've been growing from clone for so long and I want to start breeding my own. I officially created my own strain last week. It was pollen from a Platinum Cherry Pie, and I collected it, saved it, and pollinated one of my smaller Cannatonic's buds. The seeds are about 60% formed already on the buds. It's crazy to see what I created! I'm harvesting around the 30th, and I'll let you know how many (Cannatonic x Plat. Cherry Pie) seeds I end up with.

Youre already germinated, and I'm building my selection first and prepping haha. I'm thinking of ordering some TGA Subcool or Barney's Farm seeds too. I want this to be a big year for my lady and I with our new place.

Hmm do you think the 6" ones would be big enough for a small closet scrog grow? You created your own strain, thats awesome man, Gratz! You should add some pics of it to your journal, id like to see those. I wouldnt mind doing that either, which is another reason i want to do some indoor, can you imagine trying to breed depending on the sunlight outside, it would take 2 years to do 0_o haha. Ill probably be buying some seeds form attitude next month when i got some free spending cash, i think i might get some cfls and a small hps also to try and do a closet grow, pending on if my breakers can handle a small hps anyways haha if it cant i might get some t5s to try it with those, ive seen some nice plants that were grown with just t5s over in the t5 club thread.

Thanks. No they wouldn't be big enough even for a small SOG grow probably hah. Just big enough to have my seeds in for at least 3 weeks :)
I guarantee that your breaker could handle some wattage. In my room (Master Bdrm) I have a 4x4x7ft tent with 2 - 150w HPS's, and 4 big ass CFL's (biggest HD carried), a big stand-up oscilating fan for the tent, 2 small fans. That's just the tent. Them I have my big flat screen, blu-ray, ps3, etc... complete home theater system, mini fridge, microwave, 4 stand up lights, and a bunch of miscellaneous chargers... etc.

I have only tripped my breaker once. My lady was microwaving some take out, and I was vacuuming, + everything else mentioned above. Then I set the trip breaker back and everything was gravy.

What strains are your seeds again? What company are you looking into ordering from? The 2 I mentioned before have had flawless results posted here time and time again from many different growers.

Oh, and as soon as I get my taxes back, I'm gonna buy a new laptop and a DSLR camera.

Then I'll be updating my massive move this year :)

I've kinda been floating on this site anyways not saying much. It's time I get it crackin.

Oh nice you have some major juice running to that room lol.

I was planning on buying from Attitude Seeds cause i have a friend in san diego who orders form them and its always legit. If i can find some other places where anyone in cali has ordered form ill order form there, because that is what i most worried about.
If i order from Attitude though ill be getting some;

Dankey Doodle(Viking 90 X Big Buds 93 and a male KC 636)(Claims it can get up to 12 ft and produce 1500 grams dried bud)

TNR(Kc2 X Thai)(claims it can get up to 12 ft and produce 1000 grams dried bud)

Now i know never trust what they say they can put out or how big they can get but i really want to see how big i can get these 2 strains. Plus that TNR was bred for outdoor grow, super resistant to mold and frosts. I also need to find a strain that is good for Scroging so i can try that out

I just want good genetic seeds to grow with but i need help finding a legit website and im afraid to get caught buying them! PLEASE HELP :O

Those sound like some crazy Jamaican islander strains haha. But I know that KC has some huge cola's from what I've seen at the clubs, and anything crossed with Thai will be HUGE grown outdoors.
I look forward to seeing some fast growing sativa's along with my hybrids this year. Gonna be fun.
