We had some pretty crazy thunderstorm action the other night complete with hail, crazy lighting,extreme wind gusts, and all kinds of shit so i decided i should check on my ladies today to see how they faired. They all looked good but it seemed like the rains had flushed alot of the nutrients out of the soil that i had fed the day prior. They were yellowing a bit and the Qrazy train on its new growth was doing the fading/ crinkly looking leaf business again. I would've watered today but i didn't have my cans on me and i wanted them to dry out a bit before their next watering. Probably will head out tomorrow after noon to give them a light feeding. It looked like they're beginning to flower cause all the plants have pistils starting to shoot out at mostly all of the nodes. I'm going to continue giving them light strength tiger bloom for a bit, then increase the dosage further into flowering. Gotta start taking clones soon and get some guano to top dress with. Also, would it be beneficial to topdress with some epsom salt and water that in? I'm already using cal-mag, but i've heard it supplies other micronutrients and minerals.

went out today and fed with grow big @ 6 tsp/ 2.5 gal, tiger bloom @ 2tsp/ jug, cal-mag @ 2tsp /jug. everything was looking good, but i didn't get any pictures. The Jack Herer is almost 6' tall atm, and the kandy kush is probably around 5'. I can only reach about half way around the qrazy train now, and her base has to be about 2.5-3" in diameter. alot of preflowers are showing up on all of the ladies, hopefully the increase in p+k will transition them into flowering.

I think we are very close in location. I'm in Northern NE and had a hail thundershower around the 2nd of August and from what I heard this was a very concentrated storm so.. Plants are lookin good neighbor! :eyesmoke:

Right on, Thanks Neighbor! Nice to hear from someone in our neck of the woods. Nice season so far. fingers crossed for a nice warm, dry, Fall.

That's amazing that you topped them and they are still reaching 5'-6' in height. Which variety do you thing has performed the best so far? I am
trying to decide what to plant next year (sad sad life I lead!) and wondered with all of your grow's which one performed in our climate the best.

I think when all said and done they should be some monsters. I didn't expect them to get so big cause i just used old holes from last year and just re amended with some promix cause i barley put any in the holes last year. The qrazy train is a bit shorter than the rest and probably because it snapped over and took time to heal( it had a pretty big gash in the trunk), but that thing is a beast. getting real wide and probably stands about 4-4.5' out of its growbag. The trunk at the base is the biggest i've seen in person about 3" across, and the tight node spacing and branching is a thing of beauty. I'm real excited for that one. I know how Subcool's strains have tendencies to turn amazing purples and fall colors around harvest, not to mention the candy and fruit like smells. The flowering is supposed to be on the shorter side of 60 days, so it should be a good one. The kandy kush and jack i know have longer flowering times, and the kushes are really susceptible to mold an powdery mildew. They have been doing great, but i just hope that the fall is on the drier side, and they start flowering soon so they'll be somewhat ready come october. If i had a greenhouse, i'd be allset. I'm thinking of rigging up some sort or roof with greenhouse plastic just to keep the rain off them. Probably lightly spray some green and brown spray paint on the platic to keep the gloss down and camo it a bit. we'll see though.

I have been thinking about doing the same thing but I think my girls are too tall. Your frickin' grow is amazing man, great job!!!

Thanks Puck, i figure that they're close enough together where i could cover the kandy kush and JH with one piece about 8'x6'. if i make four holes in the ground for the corners that i can put some spruce poles into, then reinforce the corners of the plastic with gorilla tape so they won't rip, and tack them into the top of the poles with nails, they should hold. I'll put a center pole in the middle to keep it from collapsing. Without having sides on it, They should get enough airflow so mold wouldn't be as much of a problem. I think if i can keep the rain off them ( If it happens in the last 3-4 weeks) i should be able to let them go til maybe first week of Oct, or however long they need til it get too cold and shitty out. I dunno though, just an idea i've been throwing around. hopefully the weather will cooparate this fall so we wont need to worry about botrytis and mold as much.

I have the tops in water with a little sugar(i heard that it'll help them last longer) and hopefully they'll open tomorrow so i can collect the pollen. I also got some plugs and olivias cloning gel, so hopefully i'll take some cutting in the next couple days. I'll have an update by tomorrow night.

Yes, hopefully there won't be too much rain this fall. I had a small problem with mold last year on one of my top's but I was lucky. It didn't spread. I was also thinking
about doing more of a smaller greenhouse but you just saved my harvest! I wouldn't get enough airflow and probably molded out. I just have some sativa pheno's that
I am worried about finishing on time. Even though the advertizing stated that it would finish in Sept. I assume with the sativa pheno would take longer....

Definitely man, i lost a little bit to mold, but luckily harvested before it got any worse. Airflow is crucial and too often forgotten about, mold is a bitch, and keeping humidity down inside a closed greenhouse without fans is pretty damn hard. I'd just go without walls to save yourself the worry of not gettin enough airflow. There are some fast flowering sativa's, but usually they'll take 6 weeks minimum- 8 weeks. The plus side of many sativas is the airier buds are less prone to bud rot than the fat, dense, indicas.

I topdressed the plants with indonesian bat guano the other day(.2-12-.5) which should give them an added boost of P for flowering, especially when it rains and washes most of my nutes out of the soil, so we'll see how they like it. Pistils were starting to shoot out(not yet in big clusters, but pairs of 3 or 4), but i think flowering has begun. Would've taken more pics but the battery died. Had to stake the closest branch on the JH cause it was leaning pretty good, and looked like it could break off in high winds. Will have another update in the next two days.

well the wet weather subsided, and the plants had a couple days to dry out a bit, so i figured i'd give them a feeding since it had been a little while. The top dressing of guano looked like it helped quite a bit because they are usually looking pretty hungry and and faded after a good rain or two washes the nutes out of the soil, but they looked greener than usual. The QT's leaves are fading a bit along the main veins in the leaves, starting at the newer growth and progressing to the fan leaves. I Think its Ph, but i'm not too sure. It seems to come out of it pretty quick, so i'm hoping the feeding will either correct the deficiency or the tiger bloom will drop the Ph a bit. If that doesn't work, i'll try to raise the Ph a bit to see if that works. I'm leaning toward Ph being the issue cause the younger growth's leaves cup in as well. The Kandy kush is in the lead with some pistils shooting out, but the other two are just beginning to flower. The little LSD (not pictured) already has some resin on some calyx's at the top of the plant. The JH stands at around 6'5" and the KK at around 6'.The Qrazy Train stands about 6' from the ground, but about 4'5" out of the grow bag. Fed with Tiger bloom @ 6tsp, 1 tsp Grow Big, 3 tsp cal-mag / 2.5 gal jug. The spruce tree to to north side of my gals blocked about two hours of prime mid day sun from the ladies, and its a mature tree on the older side, so i decided not to take the tree down, but to climb it and just take the top 10' off. With a slight breeze pushing the top in the opposite direction of where i wanted it to fall( right towards me and my ladies)it was a bit sketchy, but i dropped it right where i wanted it. It was definitely larger than i imagined when it hit the ground and i was left swaying in the top of the tree with a kung fu grip on the branches. As MacGruber would say "there's a big difference between winging it and seeing what happens, now let's see what happens."

Not too many people would have the balls to cut off the top of a spruce tree, well done. (maybe on the crazy side of things?) I think
your color has been great all the way through. I think I will be using the guano idea next year, I have the same problem with water soluable
nutes.

haha thanks man. my cell's camera need some adjustment because they always look more yellow than they actually are ( plus the afternoon lighting doesn't help at all). Next year i'm definitely gonna amend my holes with guano, dolomite lime, + worm castings right from the start. When topdressing i wasn't positive on how much to scratch into the top soil, so i just took 8 good pinches or so, and made a nice layer to mix into the topsoil, then pressed it back down. I'm definitely going with organic nutes next season, probably 3 or 4 of the general organics line products. I haven't heard much about thier products in outdoors grows, but i've seen great things indoors. we'll see though.

thanks for stoppin by tre, thats funny cause i was checkin your grow out yesterday. plants are lookin good! is kandy kush that tallest one next to the building? It has the same structure as mine does after topping it, all the side branches grew right up into tops and stretched quite a bit (although not lanky in any sense of the word). my kandy is starting to give off a stronger skunky odor, can't wait until resin starts forming. They say it really packs on the resin at the 5th week

The things we do for our plants lol. Still lookin awesome. I wouldn't say you have pH problems but if you want to know go pick one up at the garden store for like 15 bucks or less, worthwhile investment rather than guessing. :weed:
