1st Non-Crappy Grow!

So, this will be my first attempt at doing it right. I will not be able to start for another week or so, so don't worry about posting anything until you see the first posts about the plants.

Now, although I'm not ready to start, I decided to go ahead and get this going, so I can at least tell you what it's going to be:

Strains: (All Female)

(4) Ganesh Spirit-Sweet Seeds
(2) Skunk #1-Flying Dutchman
(1) White Dwarf (Auto)-Buddha Seeds
(1) Syrup (Auto)-Buddha Seeds
(1) Burmese Kush-T.H. Seeds

*White Dwarf, Syrup, Burmese Kush were all freebies and, I only have one of each. Could change.*

Setup:

Lighting: 600 watt HPS for flower (Red)
(8 ) CFL 26 watt (100 equivalent) & (1) T8 Lamp for
veg (Blue)

Ventilation: 6" 400 CFM inline fan (exhausting light)
4" 200 CFM inline fan w/ carbon filter (exhausting
room)
(2) small fans & (1) oscillating fan (inside room)
(1) duct booster fan (intake)

Grow Box: 4x4x6 DIY
2x3's & OSB (cheap)
Mylar (emergency blankets)

Soil/Nutrients: Organic soil (local nursery)
BMO line: (organic)
Grow It Green
Flower Power
Super Plant Tonic
Foliar Harmony


I think that pretty much covers everything. As you can see I am going all organic (the easy way). I am interested in teas and have been talking to people and reading numerous things on making my own, but that will have to be another time.

I am doing (2) auto-flowering strains so those will be getting a few weeks head start, that way I can start to veg the others when the autos are finishing up (autos wont lose the light they were made for).

This won't be perpetual due to lack of space but I do hope to do so in the future. I will be building a table that will fold up and down (on the wall), mainly will be used during veg.

Unfortunately the grow is on hold for now. I've been kicked out where some people were letting me stay (long story and still don't know why I got kicked out). I am jobless and now, I don't have a place to stay. Do not know how long it will be on hold for but it will happen, one way or the other.

Until then, pray for me and my continued urgent job search.

Issue was resolved with the people I'm staying with, it will happen as planned. May take a little longer to get started but keep checking back if you've looked around in here.

Things still needed. Will be doing a DIY cool tube mainly because the real ones are waaaaayyyyy over priced. A little bit of cheap metal and pyrex glass shouldn't cost $70-100+. But, still a few things I need to do/get such as DIY cool tube, mylar emergency blankets, OSB, BMO nutes. Also, may only be using passive intake or cheap computer fans for my intake for now, need extra money for some rubber bungee cords to quiet these fans as much as possible.

If you have any ideas on how to quiet a fan (other than fan speed controllers), please feel free to share your knowledge. Also, I'm going to find another (bigger) vase to use for my cool tube so I will now be able to use my MH bulb instead of the CFLs and fluorescents.

I will be trying to get this kicked off within the next 2 weeks, check around then.

Notice: Some things will change from the above, was going to edit the first post now but it won't let me. So, when it gets closer to me starting this grow I will repost a new outline. Space was cause for concern so I had to make a few changes. Stay tuned.

Due to some issues currently going on, I cannot start my indoor grow, yet. I'm trying my first outdoor grow and so far...

Not too bad...still trying to get the other 2 skunks to pop. All have been put in soil/solo cups. The little cab I'm using is a little rubbermaid type container, it's not all that big. Currently have 4 23 watt (100 watt equal) CFLs, will be adding 2-4 more asap. For ventilation I have 2 4" personal fans, 1 for intake and 1 for exhaust. Thinking about perfecting this little box by making it stealth and adding little things it still needs. Try to get a picture tonight, it is in no way a perfect box though.

I know it's pretty late into the season but I should have enough time to maybe pull 2-3 oz a plant, hopefully. Stay tuned.

Well, not looking like these skunks are going to pop, but I'm not giving up yet.

All three ganesh spirits are showing their selves. The white dwarf is making her way up but hasn't shed her shell. Still waiting on the syrup and the skunk, expecting them soon though.

Getting more CFLs by tuesday, the latest.

Well all are looking pretty good. White dwarf still hasn't shed her shell, and it's still on pretty tight. Will give it a few more hours to see if she'll pop it off, if not, I'll be doing surgery to get it off her.

I know I'm late with it, but I'll post a picture of my box that I just pretty much threw together, and I'll do that tonight. Anyway, feel free to post about whatever.

Not too much going on....expected for only being 3-4 days old. Running lights 24/0, temps ranging from 76-80, and they usually need water every other day. I have 6 CFLs in the small box now, each put out 1600 lumens (try to add 2 more within a few days hopefully). Pictures to come tomorrow.

careful not to overdo it with the cfl's. I would really recommend a timer doing 18/6. If your temps exceed 80 you will start to have problems.

other than that sounds like you got your stuff nailed down

welcome fallinprince, yea it's a small box, only about a foot tall. I've got the temps settled at 75. What I'm doing to keep the heat in check is I have the intake (4" personal fan) set right in front of an ac vent from the house. Works better than I expected.

I'll take pics in a few to show you how I got this box set up. (it was thrown together without much thought and I only used what I had on hand, so it's sloppy when it comes to holes cut and an abundance of lamp cords)

Oh, and I'm running them 24/0 to give them as much growth as I can over the next 2 weeks and I have 2 autos in there and these are going outside to finish off the season. (can't do full indoor yet)

have you looked into Y splitters for the cfl lamps ive got a ton laying around from my cfl grow there only like 1.50$ each most heavy duty lamps can do 300watts easy (4bulbs 3 splitters 1 cord)

Yea, I'm just really tight on money, had a bunch of lamps laying around not being used so I just said fuck it and used em' all. It's sloppy, but seems to be getting the job done...I have pictures..finally. Now, they're not too good though, only cam I have is a webcam, so stay with me.

They're all roughly 4 to 5 days old. The little runt in the middle is the White Dwarf.

I know the pictures are horrible so I'll see if a friend of mine will loan me a camera for taking pictures from here on out. If not, you'll see shit like these.
