Thanks Anon! I have been thinking about doing a scrog for my next round. It seems like something cool to try. Also seems like a lot of work. Your setup with the dwc and scrog is interesting though and seems like something that can work for me. We'll see!
It sure is a good bit of work but I think well worth! Keep in mind you could always just use the screen to assist in LST and not do a full out scrog, that way you could still maximize light coverage with less work. Good luck tho man, looking forward to seeing your grow through!

Ah, that could work as well. I'm thinking of trying to manifold on the next go round. But thoughts can change:cool:

Need advice please:
My old lady is displaying amber trichomes on some of her colas. I probably have about 10-15% amber coverage on the older, more developed bud sites. Question: once you start seeing amber trichomes, am I good to chop that cola?

Additional info: I'm not very interested in getting the fattest possible pistils and buds. I want to harvest at the highest tch levels and I understand that amber trichs indicate degradation of thc content.

What I'd like to do is to chop colas that are displaying amber trichomes and leave the remaining colas until I see amber. Then, chop them. So, it will likely be a 2 stage harvest.

Thanks for any input.

It's said that milky cloudy trichs are highest thc where amber gets more to a couchy stone and less heady. So yeah harvest away

You may notice only one plant in the tent now. That's because I chopped my Aurora Indica over the weekend. Starting my flush on the remaining white widow tonight. Looking to chop in about 10-14 days.

The aurora is quite stinky. Her branches are hanging upside down in a closet. Just tied twine to opposite ends of the walls and hung 'em using small binder clips.

I'm not good with scents and all that. But, to me, the aurora has a very strong fruity/pungent stank to it. Lovely smell really. And high resin. Dense buds.

My widow is a bit more airy, lighter on the resin and no smell to speak of. I mean, it has a smell, but it's very, very faint to my nose.

The contrast is really interesting. Anyway, I'm looking forward to testing my AI in a few days and my WW in about 3-4 weeks. Looking forward to seeing that contrast too

Closing in on a week of drying out the aurora and the smell has dramatically changed. Much less pungent, no fruity smell at all. It's much more of a mellow, herbal sort of smell. I can't describe it exactly, but if you have smelled enough weed, you have definitely smelled this type of odor. On another note, stems are still pretty flexible.

I'm starting the aurora in a few weeks from seeds. What do you think you will get from her after she cures? That WW looks amazing. Good job

Thank you thank you. My AI has dried out and it's now in 2 pint sized mason jars. I'd say that each jar is about 60-70% full.
I separated out a pretty large bud to keep me company before jarring the rest.
I also took quite a bit of small, wispy buds as part of the throw away stems and leaves. Probably would have more in my jars if I didn't toss the wispy buds and take a big bud. I am not bothering with weights as it's not really important to me. So, I don't have oz figures or anything.

Harvesting my WW this weekend and I can't wait lol. I'm expecting that will be more than my AI just eyeballing. We'll see.

I've started another WW grow and I'll be manifolding with it. I'd like to see just how much the yield is increased with that technique. Hoping for 8 killer buds

Very nice! How can you compare the high from the WW? That AI puts my ass in the couch cushions deep!
I'll let you know in about two weeks lol. But, I love the AI so far. Awesome aroma. Awesome awesome flavor/smoke. Doesn't put me on my ass but I don't smoke a ton. Just a small j here, a small j there

I meant to write two quart sized mason jars. Not two pint sized jars lol
