Although, I am good at convincing.. LEDs are not to be taken lightly. People were saying that.. Oh maybe a good 2 years ago. Bottom line is, technology is changing. Two years later and we CAN compare LEDs to HIDs. Use the search Bar and or google. Their plenty of people who did side by sides. Youtubes pretty good too. Bottom line is, only YOU can love LEDs, and by that I mean, stop changing your setup from what people tell or convince you. Follow the Sheep, you may or may not find what you're looking for... Convince yourself, and the World is yours

1000 watts will always grow better then 999 watts. 999 watts will always grow better then 998 watts; given the same conditions. More wattage is better, yes.

I was able to drop the light to 14 inches and the temps are 81-82 so Im happy with that.

They all have their second sets coming in nicely so they are moving along
at a good pace IMO. The Afghan is small compared to the rest but Im not worried, given
some good LST they will all be evened out anyways.

Im happy with the setup I have, just gotta get my cooltube and fan so I can set it and leave it.

You will notice that the white shark has burnt tips from being too close but since I got
the temps under control everything is great.

I don't think wattage dictates if your grow is commercial or not; I think it is the plant count. At least here, in WA, a medical state, I am limited to a 15 plant garden and 24 oz of dried, cured, ready to smoke bud, and about 70 oz of extracts. If you want to grow more then 15 plants, you have to form a collective. A collective is a group of 2-3 individual medical patients who want to grow together. We are allowed to have 45 plants maximum in our collective, and 72 oz of dried ready to smoke plant matter, etc. Here in WA it is the plant count that dictates everything, and a plant is considered ANYTHING with living roots. (including clones and seedlings) So, if you take 50 clones and only keep the best 25, be CAREFUL.
Hey RoughGrows Good to see another WA resident, I just started my first grow and like the factual points you make so if you don't mind me picking your brain from time to time.

Aww they look so cute... Glad to see things are going well for you man, as far as the set up goes i say if it aint broke don't fix it, i looked into LEDs a few years ago and i saw a lot of exaggerated claims and terrible grow journals, I'm sure LEDs are the future of indoor growing but for now and probably the next 5 years I'm guessing HID will be the way to go, it would be awesome if some one did a side by side of HID VS CFL during the seedling and veg stage i would be very interested to see the difference in growth documented.

Day 8

All is well, growth seems good. They are staying nice and short
and the leaves are getting fairly big.

I haven't watered since the transplant and I don't
think they will need it for a couple to few days.

I really think the high powered light is doing them good.

Well, I tokk the advice of a fellow RIU'r
and transplanted into some Pro-Mix.

Ugh, some roots took it pretty dirty, the Herijuana Jack
suffered pretty hard but Im sure they will re-establish
and come out ok.

Pics in a couple days, I feel bad for them..lol

I was in some MG soil so I transplanted them into some promix.
I kept the same pots, 2 are 3 gal and 2 are 1.5 gal (they will get bumped up later on)

Alright, so last night I thought that my transplant was a catastrophe. This morning
I opened the door to the grow area and was met with a sweet skunky aroma! So much
that I had to look for open windows and actually go outside to see if there was a skunk in
the yard that sprayed. No skunk! It was just my girls tossing off some of that sweetness
we all love so much.

So, I had to take some pics of them. I really don't feel bad anymore just super stoked. lol

Here they are, still not very tall or really big but I do believe they will start
to take off. They will get a shot of nutes next watering.

The Herijuana Jack suffered the most, a huge portion of her roots were ripped
off during the transplant so I really have to keep an eye on her but Im confident she
will be fine.

Day 11 from sprout.
