Seems you find that crap everywhere eh.. Thanks for the comment Dan, I have looked through your journal. I really like the community of small setup cabinet style growers we have hanging around here. I like the idea of pulling a mini fridge or small fridge apart to grow in. I have considered a steel filing cabinet too. Anything that is around that size and not conspicuous in a bedroom. As my bedroom is the only place I have to play.

Hey bagz if your going to consider the file cabs try the wood ones. They cost a little more new but thrift shops and garage sale shopping works well. The wood will keep sound from your fans in better. Imo its easier to work with also. btw your buds are looking sooo good now! I cant believe how well the 150w worked. Gives me hope for the mom setup although the mh has less lumen output. heres some shots of my girls this week about 6.5 weeks 12/12. just so you know its hindu skunk.

I can't believe the crystals your plants are producing Quickrip. That is magic. You are doing something very right if you have buds looking like that after only six and a half weeks flowering. Yeah good point with keeping with wooden cabinets. Steel ones will be noisy and I imagine will trap heat. I just want to find something with a bit more depth. I am happy growing with the height restrictions. Just want a bit moe depth. This set up here is only 80cm tall, 80 wide and 30cm deep. Keeps it interesting. I am surprised how well this set up has worked.

Hey team, it has just dawned on me, and freaked me out, that I am going away in just over 3 weeks. Which means that I will have to cut them down in 3 weeks time. I will be fine to take them with me to dry but they have to be chopped up by the 29th. SHIT.
First thing.
Do you think they will be mature and ripe by this time?
Second thing.
I have read that decreasing the plants light cycle to 11 on 13 off in the final few weeks can speed up the process at the compromised of slightly reduced yield. Has anyone here had experience with this and can recommend doing it or against it?
I am not being impatient and trying to hurry this up, just realised that I have a deadline where the plants have to be cut as I won't be around to look after them and I will take my setup apart while I am not in my room.
Please any advise is much appreciated. I really hope they will be ripe in three weeks. they are 8 and a half weeks into flowering now.

I am sorry that I cannot answer your question. I just stumbled upon your grow and I really like it. I use CFL but your buds look much more dense than mine. +rep and subbed dude. hope you figure it out.

i think you will be alright bagz. how long do you think you will be gone? i ask because if it is only a week or so, and you think there not done yet, you could just turn your lights out, leave air circulation on, and water one last time before you leave, and when you get back you will just need to harvest. just a thought, but I think they will be ready.

Hey Man, I will be away for over two weeks so unfortunately cutting them down is my only option. I don't wan't to leave the flat with them growing in my room, too risky.
They have to come down. It's a bit unfortunate but I can't do much about it. They will have to come down end of May, so I want to try and hurry them along. I hope you are right and they are done by then. 11.5 weeks seems like a long flowering time.

Heya Quickrip, Cheers for the help. I hope this strain fits into your timeframe. 11 weeks would be perfect. I will be pissed off if it is a longer flowering strain, I'd have to find new seeds for next time.. See where they are at in 3 weeks. They are looking fucking sweet now. Fingers crossed.

Yeah man, perfect sense made. Might consider supplemental lighting next time round. I thought the 150w HPS would be the ticket in there but might need a bit more. Cheers.

I have all the additional lighting there ready to go and will incorperate it next grow when I get my cooltube in there. It is too hot in there at the moment for any more lights. So will just see this one through to the bitter end as it is and see how I can improve for round two in the stealth shelf. I will redo the insides with better reflective material too. It will be epic.

Yeah Im with gumball as hes usually giving good advice. Theyre maturing at a normal rate. Im still thinkin theyll be done for sure. You need to get a look at the trichs either with a very strong magnifying glass or radio shack has a pocket microscope thats cheap [$15] and works well. Thats what I use. My plants will be done within a week. My trichs are starting to change now. You could just wait till 1/2 the pistils change to orange but thats not as precise of a method. Thats how I used to roll 5 yrs ago and I still had good smoke, never any complaints.

Cheers guys, thanks for your input. Im with both of ya and hoping that they are mature in the next 3 weeks. I went and brought some Molasses/treacle today. $5 from the local supermarket.
A gave them their first half dose and will add a small table spoon to the 1.5 litres of water I use to feed them every two days. I also use 7mls of 'Budzilla' per 1.5 litres every second day, seems to keep them happy. They can't go longer than two days without the soil drying up.
